This will be the 38th year that MINI enthusiasts will be meeting up in celebration of the MINI cars. It is the International Mini Meeting 2016, an annual get-together festival that is a tradition for the small British car fans. For this year, the celebrations will be held at Belgium for the very first time.
The gathering will be held at the small northern town of Lommel from May 12th to 16th. The location is very picturesque. It is located between windmills and the Lommelse Sahara nature reserve.
Mini Fun Club Belgium organized the event. They are the oldest MINI club in Flanders and they’re looking forward to greeting guests from all around the world. The honorary guest of the event is “Rallye Professor†himself, Rauno Aaltonen. Aaltonen won the Monto Carlo Rallye with the classic Mini in 1967.
The party will have live music, food tents, child care, Mini Club presentations, and more. The event is family friendly so everyone can enjoy. The camping site is just nearby so that the families can spend the nights there comfortably.
There will also be a parts and accessories market which is one of the rare times we get to see the most beautiful, the most off-the-wall accessories. The fastest models will also be voted on. More than 130 clubs will be presenting cars in the event which promises a display of the most exquisite MINI cars. It is a very exciting festival indeed for MINI enthusiasts.
