The New Best-Seller: MINI Clubman

The latest numbers from MINI show that the new MINI Clubman model is very well on its way to becoming the best-seller in its range. Right now, there is the greater demand for Clubman than there are models in the stock, so things look pretty good.

Michael Vadasz, the Chairman of MINI’s dealer council and GM at Otto’s MINI in Exton, Pa., stated that there are numerous customized models, “which is what MINI is all about”. Just in the first quarter of 2016, the dealers in the US have sold 1,695 models of the Clubman, while there was also a rising demand for other MINI vehicles.

The past few years were very good for MINI, as not that long ago the 250,000th Countryman left the factory – an important milestone in the company’s history!

David Duncan, the vice president of MINI of the Americas, agrees that MINI is in a great position at the moment: “We see that as a fast growing segment, so having an entry in there gives us that opportunity,”  he said in the interview for Automotive News. “And then when you look at the car itself, it’s got a premiumness about it that really takes us to the next level and allows us to compete against brands that we weren’t typically competing against.”

Duncan added: “Our two-door hardtop is only 2 years old. Our four-door hardtop is only 1 year old. We just launched a Clubman the beginning of this year, and we’re about to launch a new convertible. We’re in a very good place when it comes to product.”
