One of the most interesting features of the new MINI Countryman is the Picnic Bench. Now holding the crown as the largest MINI ever made, it promises more features and abilities. The Picnic bench allows the passengers to enjoy a picnic in the outdoors, in the comfort of their own vehicle. Wondering how it works? Find out on this video:

In the MINI press release, they just describe it as a comfortable seat on the luggage compartment lid that works for general outdoor use. The demonstration above helped to bring that description to life.

As shown in the video, this feature is a cushion that retracts under the boot floor. This can be used to sit on the rear bumper while looking at the outdoors. MINI says the main purpose is to allow you to sit comfortably and without getting dirty from a possible muddy rear bumper, especially when you’ve been driving on an adventure. .
