Big auto shows are no longer as popular as they once were. It’s because automakers now want to introduce their new models at focused events where they won’t compete for attention with competing companies’ vehicles. However, traditional shows are still in production in various parts of the world. Therefore this does not imply that they have been entirely abandoned. BMW is one example of a company that uses the Auto Zürich Show to display its newest automobiles.
The event opened its doors to automotive aficionados on Thursday and will remain open this weekend. At BMW’s exhibit, the Bavarians showcase the M3 Touring, X7 LCI, the i7, and more. The anniversary roundels commemorating M’s 50th anniversary appear on the super wagon. It was decorated to the nines in Individual paint (Frozen Pure Grey).
We learn that an identically equipped M3 Touring sells for CHF 170,530 in Switzerland. However, it is a pre-production vehicle and is not up for sale. According to the current currency rate, that comes to roughly $181,000 or €174,400. BMW only offers the M wagon in Competition trim, which includes an xDrive and an automatic transmission.
The updated X7 is also a highlight at the Auto Zürich Show in the xDrive40d style. Its look is surely appealing for those looking for something less sporty but still extremely practical. A thorough Life Cycle Impulse was given to the full-size luxury SUV for 2023, adding split headlights and the iDrive 8 system, which it shares with the M3 Touring and the fully electric i7 xDrive60.
The most recent 2 Series Active Tourer is also on display at the event, and it too features the side-by-side screen configuration. This brings us back to BMW’s most recent infotainment system. The displays, however, are smaller, and the iDrive controller is no longer present. Ahead of the hot hatch’s arrival at the show the following year with an LCI, quad exhausts, and greater power from the B48 engine, BMW also brought the M135i xDrive. The 2017 Honda Civic Type R may be seen at the Auto Zürich Show with non-performance vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Nissan Ariya EVs.
