The new 2016 MINI JCW looks stunning and the performance closely follows. That’s even more noticeable if you start driving it without really expecting too much. The engine does a magnificent work, both in the city and on the highway.
The engineers opted for a bigger engine, as opposed to everyone else going with the downsizing trend. For the first time ever, MINI uses 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engines, making the small cars perform excellently.
So, under the hood, there is the B46 engine making 230 HP and 320 Nm of torque. Two types of gearbox enable the MINI JCW to go from 0 to 100 km/h in either 6.1 or 6.3 seconds.
For the top speed, check the video above. As nearly all the vehicles produced these days, the proclaimed top speed is more than a usual owner would ever need. The John Cooper Works can go up to 246 km/h, but unless you live in Germany or have access to a race track, you won’t really be able to test this for yourself.
