[Video] A Drag Race with a BMW M5 1,000hp

Tuning is the forte of Evolve team. And this becomes more evident with its tuned BMW M5 with a spanking 1,000 horsepower. The team constantly “evolves” every vehicle they have, which includes the BMW M5. Every model from this BMW Competition series made a start of 625 horsepower. But under this team, the BMW M5 gains a Stage 3 upgrade. On that count, we now have a pretty impressive supercar but in a sedan outlook.

From drag races to speed trap competitions, the BMW M5 has already proven a lot for us. But this time, it faces a new challenge against one of the fastest cars today – the Porsche 911 Turbo s. Even though it does not physically show off what it can do, this one is a real supercar.

Producing 650 hp and 800 Nm of torque is effortless through its 3.8-litre flat-six turbocharged engine. It’s intensely fast as it sends out power to all four corners and with the help of an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox.

In this race, the tuned BMW M5 is obviously confident with what it can give. Its main upgrade includes a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The other upgrades comprise hybrid turbos, forged pistons, and meth injection kit. Its Launch Control feature matches an all-wheel-drive that can also be switched to rear-wheel drive. When setting off this M5, the gearbox should be safe from blowing up as long as the Launch Control feature is adapted properly.

A very interesting result is shown in this drag race video. Unlike the Coupe model, the Porsche fails to compete greatly because of its weight and the fact that it is a cabriolet. However, the launch control has definitely allowed this supercar to fly fast. The BMW M5 found it hard to put the power down, thus making the first race very close. Nevertheless, the M5 went ahead with a smooth ride even in the rolling races.
