[Video] BMW E70 X5 M Shows Off Natural High-performance

The BMW E70 X5 marked a new age for the X5 lineup with the launch of its M version back in the day. It was such a massive breakthrough since it wasn’t long before that the market was filled with powerful SUVs. The problem is that they found the idea completely unrealistic. So when the X5 M was first released, it made the internet expressed their displeasure even more. It left everyone baffled over what BMW had created.

BMW had already tried it before, so it wasn’t something completely new. Before the first-generation E53 came out, the German brand developed a powerful version of the X5. As a result, the BMW E53 X5 Le Mans concept came to life. This renowned car is capable of incredible power with its monstrous V12 engine under the hood. However, it never went under production. Meanwhile, its successor, the E70 generation, was worth looking into, and it was a more than competent offering in general.

It also carried the original iteration of the S63 engine. In that version, the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 generates 555 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque. Comparing to the current S63 models, the latest iterations come with much greater figures today. But, back then, it still featured all-wheel drive and automated six-speed transmission. This helps the car manoeuvre over bad terrain and handle some difficult road conditions. In addition to its being the first-ever all-wheel-drive M vehicle, it also performed impressively and finished very quickly.

In this video, we’ll see just how quickly the E70 X5 M has kept its speed throughout the years. While it is a bit enhanced, we still can’t deny its natural high-performance. It can go 0-100 km/h in under 4.3 seconds, now that it has 635 horsepower and 860 Nm of torque. Even now, it is impossible to top that moment. And when you watch the video, take a closer look at the dashboard. The rates are changing so quickly that it’s hard for it to keep up.
