[Video] Evo Car of the Year 2020 goes to the BMW M2 CS

Praises for the BMW M2 CS just keep on coming this year. The iconic M2 model had a CS version, and it received yet another reward to its already long list of achievements. This year, BMW acquired the Evo Car of the Year award, beating other tough competitors most spectacularly. It is such a pretty big honor bestowed on a limited-edition model by Evo magazine, which is a trademark name in the industry.

The logistics did some crazy stuff for the 2020 edition for several reasons. Besides the lockdown, the team got more complicated by trying out their roster in three countries. Signifying that a total of 16 cars had to be tested, transported, and taken care of across three countries in seven days. It was such a wild mission, and it’s only right to commend the Evo team for pulling it off. As a result, it shows how big they are.

As I mentioned earlier, the BMW M2 CS drastically won against the McLaren 765LT and Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD. These two cars completed the podium. It was a close call and the M2 CS won by two-tenths of a point in front of the McLaren. “Sometimes, the simplest recipes with quality ingredients and done well are the tastiest.”, said Henry Catchpole who put the M2 CS first on his list.

Although, he wasn’t the first guy to praise the M2. Another jury member said, “This used to be a driver’s car – an M-car, specifically. Small, punchy, potent, and reliant on skill and effort to get the best from it. The CS has an aura of something extra special.”. Furthermore, there were other 16 finalists for the Evo Car of the Year. There’s the Toyota Yaris GR, Aston Martin DBX, Ariel Nomad R, Porsche Cayman GTS, Audi RS7, and Porsche 911 Turbo S among others.
