Re: E60 523 ? from what I see, the 523 uses the old engine, while the 525 uses the new 6 cyclinder with the magnesium stuff, hence more power. Test drove it, little bit too sluggish for my liking.

right about that, had 3 windows replaced, 2 front under warranty so FOC. back window at 1 week past warranty, paid $210 at PML. They say gurantee for 2 years after that, so may not be a bad idea to do at PML, cause I am sure it will die again within 2 years if you use it regularly.

that's kind of low. Is it the 2.2 320i? My car is about the same age as yours, I was getting quote in the region of 90k. No doubt is is the preface lift, but paper value high, based on old system, and highish coe.

Stamford does a reasonable ATF change at $30 labour if you supply your own ATF. They use their ATF in the suck and replace mode. Where they basically suck out say 1 L of ATF thru the dipstick port of the gearbox, then replace with 1L of new ATF. Repeating the cycle till the ATF is clean. Did on...

Big problem, intermittent fault like mine. Even though my car is under warranty, I have given up bring back to PML. Gone back too many times, and they everytime just replaced the fuel filter which will solve the problem for a little while.

sounds like fuel filter which has the fuel regulator incorporated. Mine had 4 filters changed within a 50K mileage all under warranty, and the problem is never fully resolved. Happens whenever the fuel is low.
