Sick & Tired of Brake Dust!!!

There was a post not long ago but sigh ... it is a problem. http://bmw-sg.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=924&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=brake+dust&&start=0 Wonder if there is a workaround to this problem? Will waxing the wheels cause less affinity for the brake dust to stick onto the rims?

Possibly most folks would rather for the real thing or its touching something that warrants more consideration. Er. I'm not encouraging anyone to do this. There are some realistic concerns & the opinions shared are great. Good learnings here.

Yeah, I thought hard about this cosmetic mod. - Screwing :screwedu: into the caliper. It was done on the thick fat part of it. Actually, I'm still a little worried about it :uhhh: - Temperature concerns. For me, driving in SGP hardly pushes the car to the limits. Its a good point that...

Mine are 17" rims. The calipers were drilled about 1.5cm deep. I think he used 3mm diameter bits to secure the self tapping screws. You can see the 2 metals studs in this close up. You see that there is very little clearance from the rims to the caliper covers. The installers mentioned...

The covers are a little undersized, so it needs to be cut a little. It looks nice from the sides but the 'front' is exposed. So perhaps its a blessing - yes, you can see your brake pads.

    Caliper Covers

You are right, the advertised caliper covers are too small for the E46. Alvin666, you should feel better now, knowing that your deal isn't so bad after all. In any case, I did install it though its a little too small. Since its a cosmetic cover, they can be removed easily.

    Caliper Covers

I was down a moment ago to have a look Its made of fibreglass. For safety reasons, they will drill 2 holes into the side (not the front but the side) of the caliper to mount it. It appears that there is a risk for the covers to fall off if using glue. Quality looks OK. Need to check if it...

    Caliper Covers

    Another newbie question.....exhaust tips

The Remus bolt on tips fit onto a muffler that can adjust the sound via a bolt located behind the tail pipe. Or you can change to Remus quad exhaust. 2 on each side. Damn fierce.

    Waxing for new car?

Did the ZFX package already. Damn shiny man. I also got the Swissol wheel wax and will try it this weekend. BTW, I think Marina South Park is a good alternative if you want to go for photoshoots. There is a big carpark near LongBeach seafood restaurant.

BMW tuner exhaust vs "mass market" aftermarket exh

BTW, does installing an aftermarket exhaust like Remus void any PML warranty? (besides the exhaust of course) Is it recommended to install it on a brand new car?
