王中王 (left) vs 猫山王 (right)

Both were purchased today at $15/kg from Combat Durian @ 279 Balestier Road.

According to my family's taste test, the inanimous choice for best taste is 猫山王! 王中王 tastes milder than 猫山王 and resembles D24 in terms of both looks and taste. We suspect 王中王 is just the pick of the crop from D24 plantations.

yup ... after durian is the silky smooth strawberry liao

sequence a bit off - should strawberry 1st then durians - may affect performance.

红虾 has a reddish streak down the centre part of the shell.

If you belong to the group who likes 猫山王, you would not like 红虾 which is much more milder.

In terms of richness of taste or some call it pungence, 猫山王 is better than 王中王 which in turn is better than 红虾.

If u really like durian & don't mind the driving, u can visit: Sim Koa Yen ??? | Malaysia's Durian Champion, Organic, Ecology, Environment Protection & Natural in Malacca very close to Air Keroh toll. I went there to eat last year & bought 1 boot load of durian back.

For ppl who scare of paint chip, stay away because it is a 2km drive from trunk road to the farm via pebble road.

If u don't mind flying, u can visit Welcome | Bao Sheng Durian Farm in Penang. In fact, the whole of Balik Pulau is filled with durian. Rem to walk with helmet

Opps sorry I got mixed up paiseh. The one I tried was green bamboo (green streak at centre of shell) at 727 some years ago and not red prawn. I too have yet to try red prawn.

Just to share...

Geylang Lor 36, the small stall on the right. MSW, Jinfeng.. all selling $10/kg. Price is very reasonable and honest durain stall.

Yup there are plenty of seats. You need to call in advance if you want the 红虾. I am going to grab some too next week. According to the salesman, the best durians will arrive in a week's time. They are also on Facebook.

..i've tried...but mny years back..when a frd brought from a farm from Malaysia back 4 me....

...havent seen any stalls selling in SG...& I'm lazy 2 search as well lah......lol....

....durian one of my fav...but damn fattening.....cannot....must resist...
