I dont know but i expect a big gap in pricetag.
The second one is a carbon intake kit especially designed for this model by Arma -> I expect it to be expensive (you can contact arma).
The first one is a custom stainless steel pipe with a performance filter at the edge. You can do it to a custom shop fairly cheap and put a performance filter of your choice. As an overall-> very cheap.

Looks sart when open bonnet. Improve a little bit of driving. Better filter of dust particle depending on wat filter u use. Longer lifespan. Stainless steel filter dun filter s gd s other filter. Best stay stock. Bmw spend so much 2 design a gd air filter wif gd airflow into ur gd engine. Stay stock stay stock

Performance: a few horses, faster throttle response, faster turbo spooling.
Sound: noticeable turbo spool and blow off vavle.

IMHO, for the price to get that little bit of gain, probably does not justify to change the stock setup unless the stock Turbine has been up-sized.

Below is BMW stock setup yes? Like what Ah Yang stated "Bmw spend so much 2 design a gd air filter wif gd airflow into ur gd engine. Stay stock stay stock"

Reality: bmw spent enouh time to design a good airbox to eliminate completely the engine sound, worsen throttle response to fit average's driver efficiency. To pass all pre production tests as well.

1 change can change de bro. Bt if nt hardcore mod then like bro baby1m said,dun change also ok. When after u increase airflow amt into ur engine. Wat else u nid 2 do 2 make it more efficient? The lists goes on. Its only my opinion lah. Last time i also like tat. Do tis do tat.

Well, to each his/her own yea. I have been through e ways of modifications and was heavy in it too thus have reasonable knowledge. It will always be how much/far we wanna go, if willing, go for it, really no harm except the stupid hassle from the ridiculous LTA and warranty (specific to BMW).

You should seen my previous two ride's engine bay in the past... 1 looks like a Group-A car while the other looks exactly like the HKS Hiper Silvia. For current ride, I went the opposite route, appearance to stay as stock as possible.

Enquired about the Arma intake.. 2.1k including install. Pricey, though it does come with a computer controlled valve that controls air intake at low rpms.

Try AFE intake.. I believe its much cheaper.. mine (M135) cost 890..

That's not pricy, it's a scam. Except these guys think we have some $100k cars.

Any link maybe? I found only for 135.

Yup, definitely interested in something from afe too. There is one model for n20 engine, which has the same airbox as n13. However the piping layout is different, since turbos are placed in different locations. Simple task of redesigning the connecting pipe from intake to turbo.

Also interested in a diy setup. But would mounting of the air filter box be an issue? Just worried that rocking of the engine and vibration could shake the airbox and cause the clamps to loosen.

It should be quite easy for an experienced technician.
I would suggest you to ask for a longer pipe coming closer to bumper at left (like arma's position). Then you can put there a free flow filter of your choice. Or maybe surround it with a custom heatshield too. Cheaply and effective.
