19" setup

i understand the typical/common/standard setup for 19" is 235/35/19 & 265/30/19
however, somehow i don't like it and i feel the tyre is too thin.

let's say, speedometer out is my least concern and i don't care.
my ride is e90 lci, wheel spec is 19x8.5 +32 (front) and 19x9.5 +35 (rear), can i go with

a. 235/40/19 & 265/35/19

b. 235/35/19 & 265/35/19

apart from speedometer out, is there other concerns/issues or change of driving characteristics using the above tyre combination

anyone using the above combo (a) or (b), what's your experience?

if must choose, combo (a) or (b) is better?

Can I suggest you try: 245 35 19 and 275 30 19?

i did consider this. the tyres are sibei wide for E90 (in my opinion only hor). perhaps for E60/F10 is good.

Is your ride lowered? If yes, I suggest you dun use anything more than F235/35/19 R265/30/19 in my opinion.

Assuming you didn't lower, I personally feel if you fit F235/40/19 R265/35/19 for E90, it might/should rub the fender. Unless, you opt to roll your fender.

Just my 2 cents worth...not an expert.

car is lowered.
hence, i was exploring higher profile 40/35 instead of 35/30 for tyre width 235/265 (F/R)

If your car can adjust the height - the higher profiles would just need the car height tweaked higher.

this will also help me to clear basement carpark and ridiculous high hump

Bro,

U lowered your ride but now yuo want to change to higher profile tyres to clear humps???

Wy dun you just adjust the height then? On a E90, too big tyres (read: heavy) might cause the car to be sluggish..unless you have done the necess mods etc...

btw, my main reason to lower the car is to close the gap between the tyres and fender. not to slam down the car to the ground
what i want to achieve is to have 19" wheel but i don't like thin tyres like 265/30

after all your option here is final
you will lead to another headache like
choice of tyre unless you dont mind mixing 2 type of tyre ( to have all same type for this combination may have problem)
problem of tyre size and rim spec matching
Rubbing problem.
To prevent all above, follow what other spec you are safe.
OR since you prefer thicker sidewall go for 18 " (225/40-18 and 255/35-18)
try to learn what is GIVE AND TAKE , your life will be enjoyable one

The profile u state are non standard size & will cost alot more as compares with standard (popular) 19'' tire profile.

Just like Front: 235/40/R18 Rear 265/35/R18 tires are somewat on par or higher price as compare with Front 235/35/R19 Rear 265/30/R19 tires. As per roberttan mentioned, it would be a tough task serching for a sets of tires which you prefer.

This is such a useful thread... Planning on installing 19" on my F10 too... Same like bro wt_bro, I do not like thin tyres... And do not like to go too low... I'm very prone to hit kerb and brush big high hump... very heartpain one... hahaha!

BEST you stick with your stock size if you does not want any of the issue you mentioned.

The problem is buei swee ler... wheels so small... gap from wheel to body so big... :roll: wanna spraypaint the rims to glossy black like the new M5
