Hi BMW-sg community...just want to have your views on your servicing experiences with PML..which Branch? East Coast/Alexandra/SimeDarby better? recommendation of service advisor? Your valuable views most appreciated....and also, has anyone gone the route of servicing with other non-PML agencies? recommendations/views on this also most appreciated...Thanks all in advance.!!

if you use outside workshop your warranty with pml will be void.

simple oil changed @ PML is just $210-230 range. outside workshop might be around $150 depending on the oil you select. don't chicken over that $50. go for PML.

parts another stories. most would prefer outside workshop than PML. cos the labour is cheaper, but remember to get the OEM parts. unless you prefer some aftermarket parts to be better.

even you do oil changed outside PML, they won't jus void your warranty. unless your mechanic screw up for you, unscrew the wrong parts with the wrong tools. that for sure PML won't honour that damage.

agree I do a mid service oil change outside since it is faster and simpler but for 1st service PML is not bad, it cost $260 for a 6 cylinder N52 so N46 engine should be cheaper as menntioned earlier.

you may want to consider mid-service servicing done outside PML and computer dictated service done at PML. I believe that there needs to be a computer service reset and also your service booklet is stamped.

Most of the reputable bmw workshops should be able to handle the service reset, but the service stamp may or may not be valuable to you.

Only big issue is that if the service and reset is done outside PML, you will give them a window of opportunity to dispute warranty claims that may arise from the service eg engine overheat from wrong engine oil used... (just a silly example...)

i have another problem, does anyone know after 2 years, the service light will appear and that the indication for filter and air con stuff is lit.

Can anyone please help me what this will entail at PML ($$$ damage) and can I get this done outside of PML.

By the way, my car is just over 2 years and would like to know what options I do have.

I just buy oil and go back to PML to get it done. Takes about 2-3hrs max. Just call, book your car in, and wait. Why so fast? I told them not to wash car, just change the oil and pass me back the car whilst I wait.

In BVO this takes about 30 minutes to do if you call in earlier...

I brought my car for first servicing. Had my own engine oil, paid around 75bucks for labour and oil filter.

ha ha... i jsut send my car in yesterday... bought my own oil.... drop it in...

Told them to look at the unstable idling of the engine as well as the creaking noise in the cars that is unbearable.

they told me some valtronic dunnowhat sensor screwed up.. very hard to change... up to now, my car still stuck inside... 2 days already.

IT is the eccentric cmashaft sensor used in the valvetronic engines. IF it is faulty they have to remove the cylinder head to replace it. It takes some time but after they fix it the engine should run smooth....

Hi bro, i am driving an E90 . would like to check how many litre of engine oil is require for oil change? And how much does PML charge for the first 12km servicing? Thk .
