Brother, you view already, or see picture only. Wanted to go view, but little bit busy this weekend. How, can buy or not?

Re: 2002 E46 cab at 135k

From the pic, looks pretty stock. Why not source around for a 1 owner and modded one? As for year 2002 registration, u may wish to check against the log card on whether it is under the old PARF system or not as your yearly drepreciation will differ.

Re: 2002 E46 cab at 135k

This car is registered on the same day as my 320, so it should be under the old parf scheme. Like to buy stock car and do the mod myself. The thing that I don't like is I will be the 3rd owner. Will see.

if you really want it, it should be very close to paper value... cos you will be the third owner...

huh? I dun think people will sell close to paper coz the body of the cabrio is worth a bit. Not sure if u mean buying close to paper + body price.

Quite true, 80% parf and 65% is a HUGE difference. Some dealers told me that its quite safe to assume all facelifted E46s are 65% scheme, and the pre-FL ones are 80%. Dunno if this is true.

Re: 2002 E46 cab at 135k

apparently the E46 cab body is worth 40k!!!! This car should be old 80% PARF scheme. How much to offer him?

Not true. Mine's August 2002, under the 65% scheme. It is PFL. The cut off point was May 2002.

Re: 2002 E46 cab at 135k

The safest bet is to look at the log card and check the PARF value. A chappy who has a May 2002 COE may delay registration and choose to register his new car later in say Aug 2002 and he will still come under the old PARF system where he gets back 80% of OMV after 10 yrs. So bottomline, check the log card. It is when he got his COE and not when the car was registered.

Doc, I think u need to ask yourself how much u wish to part in terms of yearly depreciation. Then whether old or new PARF system is irrelevant. I think for cabrios that are 318cic or 320cic, depreciation of $13k p.a. is abt rite. That is my personal opinion only.

Re: 2002 E46 cab at 135k

Thanks, you driving 740il now? Thought after your T6, you had a 5 series?

The thing is 320cic is a bit shy on power. So on one hand, the feeling of letting the wind blow your hair (while I still have them) is beckoning, on the other hand giving up my T5 is a little tough. 330 cic with SMG would be nice, but that is beyond my budget.

I can get 88k to dereg the T5, so it is not a lot more to throw in for this 320 cic, and I am pretty comfortable with the depreciation. The thing that I am not sure about is, is this a fair price to ask for a 2 owner 320cic.

No, I am still with my humble 5 as my sig indicates. At $135k for the cabrio and if my rusty maths prove me rite, u are looking at yearly depreciation of close to $14.7k p.a. If u add in t/f fee, u are looking at $15k p.a. Dat is kinda high. If u only want that topless feeling and since u have already driven a 320i before, why not try cabrios from other makes like the Pug 307, the Beetle, Cooper S cabrio, Honda S2000, Mazda Miata, Golf cabrio, Toyota MR cabrio etc. I think the depreciation for these cars will be lower.

I still own the 320, depreciating too much to sell now. It is registered on the same day as this E46 cab. I need the back seat, and a lot of the other carbios are no where as rigid as the BM. The pug flexes like anything, honda S2000 only 2 seater. Maybe go bargain down with him.
