bro, so it's loan S$139k with $10k overtrade or loan $129k with $10k overtrade?

by the way, do you know the highline edition, can opt out the stupid woodgrain thing and stick to the silver chrome?

paiseh, ask u stupid qns.

As PML still want to maintain their selling price @ $139,800 or we can said that to "invoice" @ $139,800, they are offering $10,800 as an overtrade for your old car... means that your ultimate buying price for the new car is $129,000, they will top up the $10,800 onto your old car,

Example: $65,000(Market Rate for your trade in car) + $10,800(Overtrade) = $75,800

They will pay $75,800 for your trade in car...

If you do not have a car to trade in, you must forkout $10,800 as "deposit" to prepay as instalments... a bit complicated mechanism :yikess: but in the end of the day, your buying price is still $129,000... :cloud9:

I can intro my friendly & warm SE to you... :)

Dear Leungster,

Very sorry to inform that the $129K was the lowest during that few days, end of June or so called "financial year closing"...

Current my SE is offering:

$128,500 - Executive Package (Basic)
$134,500 - Professional Package (Xenon, Blacken Rear Light, etc)
$138,500 - Highline (Professional plus many more)
$142,500 - Sport Edition (Highline plus 17" wheels & Aero Kit)

IMHO, the sport edition will be more valuable package... provided you like the rims... i love the Aero Kit... :yummie:

so does it mean that these prices are excluding "overtrade"? or there are no more overtrade

Re: 2007 320i

Hi Dark Knight!

Ah.. all is clear now. I also called up PML.

Apparently, they are only bringing in only 30 units of the non-xenon Executive package. And those are limited to just 3 non-metallic colors. And they do not come with a CD changer. But some iPod adapter instead.

Guess will have to wait and see if there are any new developments....

:)

thanks bro!

in short, i guess it means

1) loan $139.8k and get $10.8k overtrade on old car or
2) loan $129k as they "give" you $10.8k as deposit off the invoice px of $139.8k.

option 1) is for those who got outstanding on old car loan.

Re: 2007 320i

Ok. Newbie question here - a 10.8k overtrade sounds yummy. But whats there to stop them from quoting you some ridiculous low price for your old car and then telling you that they'll give you a wonderful 10.8k overtrade for it?

My understanding is tha they don't really overtrade by 10.8k... They will overtrade and give you a cash rebate when u take a loan for 7+ years... All together, this may add up to 10.8k.. Is that rite??

Re: 2007 320i

Have test driven the Merc C class, words like comfort and elegence probably spring to mind and it does not fail. If you are after a sporty drive and image, you tend to look elsewhere, like BMW or Audi, but the C class has lowered suspension and more direct steering.

I am using the 3 series as a benchmark here (I own one). For compact execs, I look for a jack of all trades and master of most. Our 3 series must mix a top drive with impressive comfort and refinement. Image, cabin quality and practicality. My winner......3 series.

The C class strong engine is 20 more horses and comes with impressive performance data. Having said, I can live with my 3 series.

Re: 2007 320i

I read the recent Autocar UK March Issue comparison road test between the new C-class and the 3-series, and as you guys will probably already guess, the 3-series wins the review again. :)

Merc has definitely improved the new C-class, but as what the review mentioned, its still too soft and sedate compared to the 3-series. I guess this is an inevitable setup as Merc's target market has always been older drivers who tend to like such comfy setups.

Imho, just from my personal observation, whenever i spot a C-class on the road, the driver is more likely going to be an older auntie, whereas a 3-series will likely be driven by a young guy or lady. Thats the pattern i see amongst my circle of relatives too. So i believe both cars will still sell well to their targeted customer demographic. :)

So what is the new Merc C180 & C200 priced at?

Equipped with Kompressor?

Not well versed with Merc...
