Heard from my SE that they never bring in IS300 for economic reasons due to the higher road tax, etc. Value for money buyers like me probably go for the Lexus but if I'm so brandy, I would have chose a BMW. Probably those with higher budgets will go for BMW or something else in the higher price bucket. I dun expect the IS350 to show up in Singapore anytime soon too.

It's just like why u see so many BMW523s and little 530s. Singaporeans will just go for the entry level. After all, each step up is extra 20K or so and the road tax, insurance and fuel costs in Singapore is fantastic!

I think Borneo will bring in the M3 competitor, IS-F (IS Flagship) because of pressure from Toyota. The marketing effort for IS-F is integral to Lexus' current strategy of shifting target focus from Merc to BMW.

that would be nice, but to pay road tax on 5 litres on a small car like the IS is in my opinion not worth it.
