Overall not bad i would say. Only if the rear end could be more distinctive when compared to the Lancer EX.
I want my dream to come true this X'mas! ARGH! :yummie:

Edmunds Inside Line already got their hands on the Evo X's.

Thanks for the review... Have you ordered yours already? :)

SST sounds great... but I got a feeling that workshops will just buy the lighter RS ver (with a conventional clutch) to cope with the added demands of a big TC/stroker combo.

No $.

Will you upgrade or enough of TC already? :)

Wrong combo of colour, stickers, vents, body kits:screwedu: . I will buy the stock one and do it up myself:nehnehhh:

Re: 2008 Ralliart Evolution X

Nice. Looks like a Volvo?

Re: 2008 Ralliart Evolution X

oddly, one of the changes from the E7 to the E8 is the increase in bonnet gap. The E-X seems a little small.

KW69 - you are right about the rear. Like the E7 - E9, the two rear lights are distinctively separated from each other unlike the normal lancers. Oh and the license plate on rear bumper vis-a-vis it on the boot is also a telltale sign

I have the same reason as you! Haha...

Besides I still love my current ride deep-deep! :cloud9:

Re: 2008 Ralliart Evolution X

dunno how wide the rear ass is for the Evo version but the regular Lancer really looks fugly...tall n no hip

Re: 2008 Ralliart Evolution X

dunno...dun like the looks....the current evo in white, yellow or red still looks better.

Re: 2008 Ralliart Evolution X

Yeah.. it just looks too damn narrow in the regular Lancer EX trim.

But the DVD of the Evo X from Mitsubishi that I saw, proportions looked better.

You can always download the latest GT5 Prologue trailers to see the pretty good renditions of the Evo X and the GTR.

Re: 2008 Ralliart Evolution X

Sam Mitani of Road and Track went to Japan to try out the new EvoX in an instrumental test. The 0-60 was slower than the Evo 9MR, and he thought it was gonna tank on track, but in a back to back test against the JDM Evo 9 MR with an SST equipped Evo X, and he cut 2 seconds off the Evo 9MR in a sub 2 minute lap.

It seems that the dualclutch option is great. This tranny has 3 options: pussy, sport and supersport. The lap beating effort was done in Supersport mode, and the shifting was as good as manual.

Another thing was that the new car had much greater stability under acceleration and braking and coming out of corners. Keeping in mind that the Evo 9MR is already such and unbeatable cornering machine, that's impressive.

Grey evo not nice meh, thighmaster??

So Jack likes tall chicks wif wide hips huh... :laughlik:

Caysman: It will be interesting to compare the timings of the SST E10 with a normal clutch E10.

Re: 2008 Ralliart Evolution X

I think it's well established that, all things being equal, a DSG will beat a manual at any time due to the continuous torque feed to the wheels.

The only ambiguity is whether in a low speed drag test to 60, will a DSG be able to beat a torque converter automatic which stores energy in the TC supposedly.

But yes, it'd be interesting to confirm this.

Maybe he crap at manual gearbox? :)

I remember reading that the Evo9MR used for the comparison was a USDM spec one without SAYC. So it's not a like for like comparison. The Evo X is the first Evo for US to include SAYC.

Also new SAWC allows torque split front and rear up to 80% to either FRONT or BACK.

ps axl, for some reason, the rims in yr photo looks waaay small, almost out of proportion to the rest of the car.

IIRC Sam Mitani is not a bad driver, he competes for R&T to quite good victories leh ...

IIRC also the Evo9MR was actually a JDM... lemme check ROADandTRACK.com --- First Drives - 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (11/2007) ...

oh you are utterly right ... I'm an idiot ... sorry for misinforming:

Also present at the track was a U.S.-spec 5-speed manual Evo IX, which I took for a few hot laps for comparison. "The Evo X is a nicer car," I told Fujii, "but the Evo IX is edgier and quicker."
Fujii responded barely above a whisper: "The Evo IX just seems quicker. I'm positive that the Evo X is faster around the track. The AYC gives it that edge, and you lose nothing with the TC-SST in S-Sport, even in full auto mode."

Then the new Evo X is SHIT! The Mitsu lives and dies by the SAYC, and if the EvoX only beats it 2 seconds in sub-2m track, then it is shit on the track.

Agree fully. I can't think of any aftermarket spoilers that will look good on that ass. :juggle:
