In fact the winner between Spain and Germany will be world champion

Same sentiment here.

what about fair play ? i know in reality there is no perfect solution to fair play. however, we should learn and try to achieve fair play in any competition.
Fair play is a tricky phrase. At times I look at Ronaldo and Robben (and even Klinsmann) and their ridiculous dives, but take one step back, how else could you protect yourself from the harsh tackles? How do you reckoned fair play in a physical sport which is getting worse?

a handball to save a goal from goal line should be given goal straight away and red card. rule is dead. people is alive. we can change the rule.
Yes and No. Yes because it is fair and equitable in that sense. No because there will be no more penalties. Strikers brought down on goal scoring chance should be given a goal too. Other handballs should be given a goal too. All these followed by a red card. The game will be too controversial.

Soccer is as it is partly because it is dynamic and controversial at times.

Handball can be intepreted ball-to-hand or hand-to-ball. Offside can be intepreted as inferring-with-play or not-interferring. These are the results of 3 men policing 22. If rules are changed and technology are brought it, the game will be too regid. Last thing I wanna see is a handball followed by 5 min pause to check with linesman, 4th official, TV examination and what-not.....

Re: 2010 World Cup South Africa

Mani the Bird says sorry. He was off form that day. Now he gave me new tip:

This world cup is already determined by the numbers....

1. Brazil won the World Cup in 1994; before that they also won in 1970.
Adding 1970 + 1994= 3964

2. Argentina won its last World Cup in 1986; before that they also won in 1978.
Adding 1978 + 1986= 3964

3. Germany won its last World Cup in 1990; before that they also won in 1974.
Adding 1974 + 1990= 3964

4. Brazil also won the World Cup in 2002; before that they also won in 1962.
Adding 1962+ 2002= 3964

5. Therefore if you want to know which nation is going to win the World Cup
in 2010, you only have to subtract 2010 from the magic number that we have
determined: 3964 minus 2010 = 1954.

In 1954 the World Cup was won by Germany!!!

I think Suarez's case should not be reckoned as a cheat. To me, he is no difference to the last defender taking chances in bringing down the striker - he risks a red card and a penalty, but he is not cheating. We see that all the time in BPL. Had Gyan scored the penalty kick, Suarez's act would not be profitable.

My 2 cents are: these are all NOT fair play. But not all are cheats. Blatant fouls expecting a red card and/or penalty is not cheat. It is unfortunately part of the game. Fouls disguised to hoodwink the referee is cheating!

Example:

1986. Maradona Hand of God disguised as a header. CHEAT!

1998. Diego Simeone faking injury to get Beckham sent off. CHEAT!

2009. Henry subtly using his hand twice to control the ball against Ireland. Cheat.

2010. Suarez blocking with his hands fully expecting a red and penalty. Not cheat. Ghana has themselves to blame for missing penalty.

It's only cheating if you don't get caught by the ref?

Like that a million other footballers are cheats also...

My opinion...they are all not cheats. Deceiving the ref has become part and parcel of the game, so it's either try to bluff the ref...or the opponents will bluff the ref.

Re: 2010 World Cup South Africa

No. It is cheating if the INTENTION is to DECEIVE the referee. Whether one gets caught or not is irrelevant.

I agree with your last point. Deceiving the ref has become part of the game. Unfortunately in my books, THAT is cheating.

Hmmm....I wouldn't call it cheating.

My definition of cheating would be more extreme: external influences that determine the outcome of a game such as bribing, blackmail, performance enhancing drugs etc.

Having said that..I still think FIFA should at least review the rules of the game, as well as goal line technology..I don't buy the crap that controversies make the game interesting.
