30,000km Servicing

Hi all,

am due for my 30000km servicing for my E90,

Servicing items list printed out from PML to replace

1) Brake Pads
2) Brake Fluid
3) Engine Oil
3) Intake Silencer
4) Spark Plugs
5) Micro Filter

i had replaced item 1 & 2 at BVO and J4C at half the price PML quoted. I understand i need to go back to PML for oil servicing inorder not to void my warranty which still have 1 1/2 years to go.

Anyone know what is "intake silencer" as the price from PML is high, thought will just go back for oil change, can i request not to change the spark plugs at PML as the amount can get me better one outside.

Anyone can advise on this ? or should i just hack it and have the complete servicing done at outside workshop ? thks

kind of early to replace plugs ..... ?

maybe you shld also change ur air con filter too...not to expensive

btw I had K&N air filter installed, anyone have this install and do not face problem from PML when you bring in yours for servicing? will they void warranty for air filter?

even if you dont come back...they wont void ur warranty if anything goes wrong... they just scare u...i never go back to PML unless to claim some weird parts that is giving problems...

i would say go to BVO... look for bernad/ah wee.... they charge very reasonable price and good work too

BTW micro filter and spark plugs i thought usually last till about 60 000-70 000 km

dun know leh, PML printed out the items for servicing. they listed that plugs,intake silencer and mircofilter is combine with engine oil change..When i had my 10k and 20k servicing the price is still reasonable but this 30k price is sky high cost abt $500 plus?

yeap...its air con filter... its cheap frm what i know..less than 50 bucks

Strange that they describe our air filter like this.

i'm very surprised PML asked you to change spark plug when yours is only 30k km.
They refused to change mine even at 60k km, maybe diff engine use diff plug la.
BTW, what's your engine? And how much they charge you for the spark plug?

cannot understand their rationale for changing your plug so early though

I paid $250 for the air con filter!

Thats wierd. My 40k servicing was only $200+ at PML. Only oil change, micro filter....none of the rest highlighted. And yep...my SA told me that sparks plugs replaced at 100k :O when I told him not to replace my Brisk plugs!!

woah dats daylight robbery. if im not mistaken, e90 uses bosch 3 pronged plugs. mx selling less than half the price.

because when they blank out the bosch name and label BMW ...
haha, the price change and it became another product
