actually e250 is damn ah pek, but the interior, the 18 inch 5 spokes rims and twin exhaust (same as the s class) totally blown me away..

f10 hl for me. Just collected my ride and its really a big improvement from e60.

Overall drive is smooth. I actually took a long detour to drive back home to enjoy the ride.

It has more gadgets and the sound system is much better. Also a few bros are considering to upgrade their screen to 10.1 inch. So hl comes with it though its $15k more lah.

imho, i think it's not worth to spend >200k on a sub 2L "luxury" car.
yes its turbo. but a Camry owner pays more road tax.

1.8L engine at 255k is overpriced

My last ride was E-class. brought new for 2 yrs 10 mths then decided to change to 523i highline. after twice test drive for both... :laughlik:

523i Highline is at $247K before overtrade not discount
E250 Avantgarde is $248K before overtrade not discount

523i Highline overtrade is $15K max
E250 Avantgarde overtrade is $26K + $1K loan rebate at interest 1.88%

At that time if I buy E250, I will save a total of $12K more over the 523i Highline.

Mercedes sales dropped very much till that bo bian liao. throw in whatever they can and SA even offer further discount or vouchers just to make u sign. I receive SMS promo almost every week at that time. Still got lucky draw $120k Cash, SLK & Condo for all buyers registered before sept 2011.

Now:
523i Highline is $254K before overtrade not discount
E250 Avantgarde is $255K before overtrade not discount

523i Highline overtrade is about $18K
523i Standard overtrade is about $28K

E250 Avantgarde what package available i not very sure but latest SMS received is the E250 Avantgarde model is E125 sport edition. with sport exhaust, 18" rims, GPS, DVD & etc. Price from $223K also before overtrade.

You should get better discount if you go for E250 Avantgarde than 523i Highline.

Performance wise, Avantgarde is noisy due to 1.8L engine + turbo, BMW is more smooth and engine noise is impressive.

Both brand are top notch la. Depend on your liking. :screwedu:

Current OMV for Highline is about $49K and Avantgarde is about $55K.

Exhaust and rims can always buy aftermarket and zng till swee swee.
But engine once u buy have to stick to it. My 2cents.

Maybe $$ to horsepower ratio is a better gauge of value

But 1.8L simply don't fit the bill for a luxury segment car ,
