98 Rare Z3-M coupe for sale from Hong Kong

Hi all,

Happy new year to you guys in Singapore..besides my modified E36 M3, I also have a 98/99 Z3M coupe in Hong Kong (brought back from UK), but due to emission restrictions here, we are not able to register cars manufactured before 2004 (so next year will be "before 2005" and so on) until the car reaches 20 years of age....and my Z3 M still has another 10 years to wait before it reaches that time.

I have love this rare beast for long and dont want to let it go, but since I cant use it in HK, I would rather let some other ppl enjoy it...the performance on this beast is just amazing.

I knew the only countries that I can ship to are within the RHD countries meaning Australia,Singapore,Japan, New Zealand, or back to UK where I have lived there for many years...

I would like to see if anyone in Singapore is interest in this car, in Hong Kong mine is the only one as BMW HK never imported this car and only did imported a few Z3 M roadster, mine is the hardtop version which has a stronger chassis and better performance.

from what I knew, there are only 800 RHD examples worldwide...and most of them are in UK...

here's the spec of mine:

-manufactured august 1998
-3200cc S52 321hp engine
-quad tail pipes
-5 spd manual gearbox
-estoril blue ext/ 2-tone estoril/black int.
-frt electric heated seats (I guess the heated function is useless in singapore, hehe)
-electric tilt sunroof
-Original Harman Kardon subwoofer
-K&N cone air filter
-Air-conditioner (rare to see on UK cars)
-2 remotes keys, service manuals, logbook with full UK service history stamps done by BMW UK proved Genuine miles
-Import document provided

in UK the current price for this car is around $15000-22000GBP (roughly $42500-62000SGD)

I am willing to sell mine at $52,000SGD excluding shipping cost and tax... i am not quite sure how much tax or additions for singapore...i however can find shipping company from Hong Kong to Singapore and can quote a cost for port to port.

Here are a few pics of my car, its surely turning into an icon car in UK now, prices are going back up as the numbers of it worldwide is really limited:

Very nice 2-tone E36 M3 you have there. To have your car featured in a tuning mag is awesome...

anyway..like what Mock says...don't think can be registered here.

Re: 98 Rare Z3-M coupe for sale from Hong Kong

wow..thats a sick looking ride..love ur E36 too!!

bumpz

Re: 98 Rare Z3-M coupe for sale from Hong Kong

thanks guys for your comments...so Singapore also has this emission rules....HK has it since like 2000....and the only way we can get our cars to register is to wait for another 10 years...cars over 20 years can apply for classic car license in HK....

i guess the only way out is to sell it back to UK or else, australia...Japanese are never fond of RHD european cars, although they are a RHD countries...they are the lucky ones which can get LHD cars to register too...

I am now using a garage trading plate (with help frpm my friend who owns a garage) whenever I need to get my car out..which is really annoying...

anyway thanks for your help, i still miss the days that I can use it daily when I lived in UK...the performance on this coupe way exceed the e36 M3 i have...its something uniqued that BMW made before the drive by wire technology came out (sorry to say but I kinda dislike the light throttle on those new bimmers now)

the Z4 M coupe is a very nice car, but it just lack the rawness of what the Z3M is offering... shame the whole world has to follow this trend : semi auto gearbox, drive by wire throttle, chassis are too good that you dont get any thrills or fun in driving as what use to have....I guess porsche is the brand that affects the most....new porsches are for housewifes, easy to drive, fast but you dont feel it ...old porsches on another hand represents how a sport car should be....

this is the fact in real world....revenue is what car factories are after now...

for me, I still prefer Manual stick shift....and no electronics....

Re: 98 Rare Z3-M coupe for sale from Hong Kong

Hi Kenny

I think you are asking too much for this 98/99 Z3- M Coupe. If I remember correctly, this car the most would only worth less than SGD$15,000 here. I had a 00/01 register Z3-M Coupe with the same specs as yours last year. I only managed to get from NZ dealer at price of around SGD$27,000 Ex-yard. And the mileage for this is only less than 30,000kms.

So u got to really look seriously at your asking price.

Look at the Z3 M-coupe I got. This car ended up with a race company in singapore and the last time I heard that this car was imported to Japan

Tks

Re: 98 Rare Z3-M coupe for sale from Hong Kong

Hi Ken,

Beautiful car and I agree that simple stuff is better compared to mucho electronics!

Your car cannot be exported to Singapore because we can only bring in used cars less than 3 yrs of age (from first registration).

Which part of HK do you stay at? I'm in HK right now but only for transit :)

hi kiwitoh,

I was surprise that you didnt sell it to U.K, cos i just got one dealer in UK offered me (I emailed a lot of ppl)$11500GBP for it (thats ard $35,000SGD with the high euros exchange rate)

Its funny, but in UK these cars worth a lot....i am really surprise why you sell it so cheap, and whats more...why sell it so soon in singapore when this car is such a rare bit... I didnt set the price high....cos in HK a 1999 M roadster will costs you around $200,000HKD (thats like $37,000SGD)....with the Coupe it should be more...

see the below link for the selling advert in HK:

your selling price is just way too low, even a 94 E36 M3 in HK will have set you back $110,000HKD ($21,000SGD)...anyway thanks for your comments.

Re: 98 Rare Z3-M coupe for sale from Hong Kong

my aunt also lives in singapore....i have heard abt the COE system that applys in singapore...and knew that cars are way more expensive than in HK for such reasons...

Re: 98 Rare Z3-M coupe for sale from Hong Kong

Hi Kenny

That NZ dealer offer price which I seem a good offer. I did not sell to UK as I did not know any UK buyer for this car. I would it cost alot there. But in other used car import countries, this Coupe might not have a good value on it.

But in the end, this car was spotted by one of a race team manager here. He bought it over at around S$127,000. So in the end I did not export this Z3 M-Coupe to NZ. Was glad that someone would appreciate this M-coupe.

Eventually I heard that the race manager import this coupe to japan for some race or test car.

Cheers

Kiwitoh
