A week with a X1 Diesel

I was in Germany last week and rented a X1 Diesel Manual, so just sharing my experience with the car here.

Overall I'm quite happy with the car, and this is the first time the car rental gave me the exact model that I've reserved! I don't know which engine variant it is though.

Some + and - of the car imho:

+ good space: fits 3 big guys comfortably with 3 large luggages (we had to take out the top boards in the boot)
+ navigation with traffic info: works perfectly and I didn't have to use the Garmin that I've brought along. Traffic info was good and was given options to choose on whether to detour (with info on detour distance and time saved) or to proceed along the original route with expected delays. It was also quite easy to input address and destinations
+ good torque for city driving: pretty zippy considering the size of the car around town
+ heated seats: damn shiok if it is real cold outside
+ manual gear was fun to drive

- wind noise above 150km/h was quite loud
- when traveling around 160-180, car seems to be out of breath and I have to downshift many times to overtake. Car also feels not as planted at this speed, which could be due to the strong winds on the autobahn, or it could be the car itself
- auto start/stop is really a pain. Luckily I found the button to off it after 3 days! but you have to press it every time you starts the car
- taxi-like rattling sound is damn obvious when you're outside the car. Can't hear it when you're inside though
- no reverse sensors : maybe europeans don't need them, but I'm really handicapped without them.

Before you guys ask "What's the FC?" : traveled 1000km and pumped 80 litres of diesel, pretty hard driving mostly on expressways. Not bad for a SUV.

Lastly just some pics to share:

The gear prompting feature was default on, I don't know that it's call SPA. They will prompt you to shift up most of the time though. Don't remember it prompting me to shift down during the trip.
