Act of GOD

Hi all,
Just thought i share this (mainly to vent) and hopefully get some advice moving forward.

Date: 17th Nov 2012 (Saturday)
Time: 1215hrs (appropriate)
Location: Orchard Link Road.

While waiting at the traffic light along this road to turn green, the heaven's decided that it was time for a dent on my car. Hence to accomplish this mission he sent forth a gush of wind that rattled some trees over my car and a tree branch gave way. 'Thud' was not just the sound of the branch hitting my car roof but also the sound of my heart that hit the floor board realising what has happened.

Mission accomplished a dent (about 2cm in diameter) on the car roof. Brilliant absolutely brillant dent it was. :ultrasho:

Some say the 1 series is an ugly car, some also say the 1 series have the backside of a golf/polo.. but all i know was that it kept my skull intact. :woottt:

Well at least some excitment in my otherwise boring life. :)

Moving forward i send the car in to PML for a quote to repair, respray and blah blah for the roof. PML informed me that this will set me back about SGD$750 (min). Feeling the pinch for this dent and scratched, i humbly seek advice from kind souls here as to other alternatives to remedy this situation.

PDR was what came to my mind. Any recommendations as to where i can go to get this 'act' resolved economically would be most appreciated.

Most gratefully,
N

Re: Act of GOD

If your insurer tries to play with words and not pay up, you should try writing to NParks... I think they do make restitution in some cases.

Cabrio drivers, watch out :p

Lye Designs........

Re: Act of GOD

can try claiming from Npark... my friend did successfully get compensation from Npark for fallen big branch landed on his car... but it's not a smooth procedure... ding dong here n there... and you might have to claim your own insurance first... Npark takes ages to pay you...

Re: Act of GOD

Dun think i will claim from Nparks as its garment related ... i can just imagine the bureaucracy to be the most 'entertaining' and 'fullfilling'

Re: Act of GOD

i think its worth a try to get compensation from N Parks. Alot of debate but i guess you can go along the angle that this is carelessness in grooming or ensuring their tree branches are not hazardous to road users or even pedestrian which could be more fatal. Highlight this and maybe even threaten to take it up to the newspapaers. I believe despite the bureaucracy, they would comply and at least give you some answers.

anyway, not that i am being "chek ah" but any photos of your dent? Forgive me if this may sound noob but i tot revol famous for dent removal? Or are they only good in small dent removals? hehe..

good luck my friend.

agree....if there are no creases, scratches....maybe dent removal might do the trick
less painful on the pocket then...keke

Re: Act of GOD

Thanks for the suggestion and advice... Really appreciate it. For that dent its not worth the trouble but seeing that it in the angle that pedestrains are at risk, I will take this angle to Nparks. I am a tech idiot, once i get the dent pic out of my phone i will post it. Cheers Kevin

I am thankful and grateful a small incident like this made me realised never take things for granted.... what GOD giveth he can take it back just like that. However i will take it to NParks to buck up to at least try their best to check on the trees. Now its not the cars that i am concerned ... its the pedestrains as a fellow member reminded me.

Thanks for the comments by the way. :)
