advice needed: How much is a 10-year 318IA E46 worth?

Re: advice needed: How much is a 10-year 318IA E46 worth?

I am looking at any 318ia within $50 - $75K....but obviously if its lower I will be happier... ....

that was why I was initially attracted to the 1998 BMW 318IA with total mileage of about 87000km....at $58K....

I felt that for a COE car with such low mileage is rare... inferior performance of the motors non-withstanding when compared to the 2004 model.

For E46 which are 3 yrs old, couple of things will get spoilt 100% ..specifically cooling system, radiator leak, oil leak on engine, and aircon if u r unlucky. (there are sticky threads on these)

Look out for these areas when u r at the dealer.

Get a 6 potter 320, it has alot of mod potential..while u r at it, get a convertible or coupe version!

Bro, listen to the many bros and also hetraa above. 320 is better, less problem. I spent $5k on wear and tear (leakage, aircon, everything), on my 318, don't follow in my footsteps, ha ha.

Re: advice needed: How much is a 10-year 318IA E46 worth?

dear NU fan,
not saying this because i am selling my E46 320i soon (currently geting new car), but really, no point getting the old (pre-FL) E46 318i, it is too underpowered, and the maintenance cost will drive you nuts.. how I know? I had it for 3 years before finally exported it.
Also, no-point getting the face-lifted 318i, go for 320i instead, the depre is not much different from 318i (around 7-8k per year), but it has better engine, you will enjoy it more.

hehe.. I am a Spurs fan, now very happy...:cloud9: hope NU fans will end your suffering soon too.:nehnehhh:

yes..... your nick says it all about your allegiance... actually he was the first wave of revivial for man u..... the 1-5 scoreline is a disgrace...but we just got to hang in there...one do not change clubs like one change underwear.. :(

oh....about the E46....based on your recommendation....is it better to get a 318 E46 made after 2004? I understand from the car dealer that 318 made after 2001 are from South Africa whereas those made before 2001 are from Germany......true?
