Why won't you consider a 7 year old E65 instead? It's just as risky in terms of the reliability, but cheaper.

How much would an 08 F01 cost btw?

Price and mileage on this E65 was the main attraction for me. However, after reading much from the forum, it seems overall reliability is a big issue for this model of that era.

All BMWs have "character", not only the E65. Heck, all European cars are temperamental.

e65 is a reliable car. driving since 05, usual wear n tear issues.

I love my E66, clock about almost 200,000km. Would be selling and might grab a 7er or 6er.
