Hi kenntona,

Thks u for all valuable info.

I agree Falken is a waste of moni. Previous experience of runng for a period, noise level go up and seems harden. Vehicle also skidded on rainy day, nt fast abt 100km plus minus and nt harsh brakg....

Had seen magz, quite a few brand advertisg like, Toyo, GT Radial and Kumho. Dont koe hw r the review...

GT Radial is very good in price for 18". Not heavy with soft side-wall for comfort. Noise wise is OK. The best is the tyre is lasting.

Toyo, S-drive wear very quickly.

Kumho, don't waste time, even have problem balancing :(, must add lot of weight on the same rim.

RE001, good in dry and wet. Noise is OK, wear rate wise, still monitoring. BUT heavy and hard side wall so comfort degraded. Cornering is stable.

Re: Advice on basic upgrade of performance

Hi stevenwu,

Thk u so much for ur info. Currently using RE001, agree with u, good in dry n wet.

Mayb next time will try GT, any particular model? Thks again.

Hi Robo,

Previously used Falken ZE series b4, forget the num...

BTw, any idea if front n rear different brand or model will effect the drive in any way?? Had been on the rd an observe other cars beside mine. Notice quite a high num of cars with front and rear diff types of tyres... Any negative effect???

yes, volker spec II is the spark plug. the spec II is different from spec I. one noticeable trait is that spec II has two needles tip while spec I has one needle and a J-hook tip

it was explained that the two needles ignition provided a more downwards explosional wave and giving a fuller combustion, maximising the fuel, while the spec I is more of lateral wave, which is less forceful than the spec II

you can sms me to test drive if u like since we are of the same car, hp: 98469936..

cheers...

Re: Advice on basic upgrade of performance

Bro,
Thanks for the kind offer.
Any indication how much is the spark plug and where else i can get them aside from R2D?

Cant remember the price already, but not expensive and worth the penny, can last over 100,000km...

U can check with R2D, I know beside getting the plugs, R2D also align the plugs in same direction to give consistent burning..

Get in touch with them, they r the exprt & friendly, u would not regret..

Re: Advice on basic upgrade of performance

as what the rest recommended, do the plugs and ignition upgrade at r2d. worth every penny. then you can consider the air scoop and K&N air filter. get a lighter rims man. breytons are way too heavy.

Re: Advice on basic upgrade of performance

Thanks Ben.
Point noted.
Will give a call to R2D later next week.

Regards.
