Advice on lowering springs

Dear all,
I am new to this forum and a proud owner of e93 323i recently. I just installed the eibach prokit and noticed that the drop height is not what I desired - still too much gap (currently 1.5 fingers). I understand that H&R springs can give a lower drop. Is that true? Anybody has any experience on this? I am looking at least one finger clearance or less but wish to avoid coilovers. Hope that you can provide me with some advice.

I also noted that the H&R super sports has a much lower drop than the "sports" version. However, after asking around some of the shops in Sin Ming, they only bring in "sports" version. Anyone has any experience on "super sports" version? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yo Clicquot99, finally first post ya :D

It may be useful if you clarify your 1.5 finger refers to the front or rear gap?

I presume you are referring to the rear because you mentioned you want it to be 1 finger or less.

Re: Advice on lowering springs

Hi C3PO, yes rear.... any advice? I checked with a few reputable shops in Sin Ming and none could advise whether H&R can indeed lower the car more than eibach. I think they don't dare to commit....

Anyway, just found out from the administrator that I need to put up minimum of 10 posts before I could advertise in the Classified Section. So might as well quickly start the first post.

Re: Advice on lowering springs

Ok, I see, rear.......1 finger.......

I will leave it to the seniors to comment on Eibach and H&R as I have not use these before.....

Re: Advice on lowering springs

according to my experience H&R does lower the car more than eibach

Re: Advice on lowering springs

to be honest i never really ask :lol2: i don't care also cos if too low i scare sweep floor so lowering springs is the best compromised, if you wanna go lower then go for coilover.

Re: Advice on lowering springs

1.5 finger gap to 1 finger gap a lot meh? honestly speaking.....

wanna slam.... go for the full thing... coilovers.... today 1 finger gap, tmr 0.5 finger gap, day after full tucked.....

Re: Advice on lowering springs

I certainly agree but I have some phobia. Previous mini fully tucked, everyday scrapped undercarriage so decided to go for springs. But now, the 1 finger plus gap makes me feel sick...

Re: Advice on lowering springs

1 finger is acceptable if u don't wanna sweep the floor everywhere u go

One thing people never ask is: how thick is the finger that is used to measure the gap?

This is serious question. Because if you use Ken's 1 finger, that is equivalent to two of my fingers. So has to be precise on how thick the finger is....

Re: Advice on lowering springs

I thinks 1 finger should be ok... my current E90 rear got -0.5 finger >

Re: Advice on lowering springs

Thanks for all the advice. Really appreciate it.... ac323 also gave me some valuable advice on powerbox options.

Re: Advice on lowering springs

Wanna use lowering springs to lower the ride height by too much will spoil your original dampers very fast....

Might as well use coilovers with adjustable height...
