I think this is a side effect of watching too much "Love 爱" Taiwan Drama which is a popular daily feature on Channel 8 ... all the influence female vs female violence, bitching and slapping has rubbed off on the Aunties watching it.
Not sure if its coincidental, but lately I've heard of some incidents about Aunties stirring shit and trouble with their mouths and attitude.
My sis-in-law had an encounter last week at an optical shop. She went into the shop and there was one staff attending to 2 aunties.
She waited for awhile since the guy was busy, and then after about 5+ minutes, the staff attended to her and she finished her transaction pretty quick within a couple of minutes as it was just an adjustment of the glasses and tightening of some screws, after which she thanked the guy serving her and proceeded to leave.
It was then that one of the 2 aunties made a snide remark 'Young people nowadays, no courtesy, never say thank you one' which was within earshot of my sis-in-law and could only be directed to her since she was the only other customer in the shop. She was annoyed at first, but then didn't say anything. Just then the second auntie then glared at my sis-in-law and said directly to her 'Oi, you never say thank you leh!' My sis-in-law started to feel annoyed so she turned to the auntie and replied that she did say thanks to the staff and asked if there was a problem.
To which the auntie replied 'If I never ask the guy to serve you, you think you will get your turn so fast meh? So ungrateful!' My sis-in-law just rolled eyes, muttered bo liao and walked off.
