my e90 320i always take a long time to cool on a sunny afternoon,beside cooling coil what could be the main culprit?

Gas, fan, all working properly?

Best is tat u get a quality heat rejection film

You may need coding the warm climate. Did mine a few weeks ago and it works.

When was the last time u topped up the Aircon gas?

Top up aircon gas is the cheapest and fastest way to get a cool aircon.

Unless it's leaking or other issues, then it's time to see the aircon doc

But it is not environmental friendly to leak air con gas out... also it will make the leak worse...

Sorry.. just to check... I am having this funny problem.. hope owner don't mind me asking here...

I usually set both driver any passage aircon temp to 23 / 22 degree C blowing from both the leg air vent and normal air vent ... but recently I found that the leg air vent is blowing WARM air ... ??? and I think cannot be... so I switch to only blowing from LEG air vent with FULL power ... really !! Warm air coming our from the leg air vent and under driver seat !!

How come ?

It only turn to cold air if I set the temperature 18 degree C !!

Any one encounter this ??? what happen ??

Please advise !!

Definitely a leak somewhere. The workshop I went to had a aircon gas sensor that will beep when it detects a leak. A little like the metal detector.

Any diff if you turn the air stratification dial to 50/50 (red/blue) ?

It sort of normal for the leg vents to be blowing some warm air ..... But your case seems extreme. Can be turned off though......

Maybe time to also check the aircon pressure etc ......

When ac still a little cold and often blow warm air, those are symptom of failing Refrigerant Control Valve or normally called preassure valve here.

Check your control setting at next to your warning light button. Set to full blue.

That is a common problem that some may not aware. To change the valve normally need to take the compressor out and vacuming. Work is almost the same as changing compressor. For workshop is not so profitable as the part cost is low. To get better profit normally they ask to change the whole compressor, dryer etc etc
