beemeup,

sounds tempting :yummie: but i'll pass. By the way i saw this 4 in one car spray thingy that claims to wash and wax a car without water?

I'd recommend staying far far away from gimmicky all-in-one bottled stuff, including any fancy coating for your windscreen. It's better to use proper wax to wax, proper car shampoo etc.

Also, it may be a good idea to DIY rather than to send your baby for an autowash or rag job... little scratches tend to show up. The car-grooming services may be worth a visit after some time though.

Even if your car is white like mine, it's still possible to keep her sparkling year after year :)

Have fun!

Re: All about the new 3 series

actually, the wash-n-wax thingy isn't that bad. its a nice compromise if you're lazy and wash your car once a week or so. but u need to wash it off quickly and can't leave it on too long under direct sunlight or it'll leave splotchy patches of wax that'll take a week or so to disappear. the BMW wash-n-wax is quite prone to this so be careful.

just get the car groomed by professionals once in a while and it'll shine just as well as those who use proper wax and shampoos all the time. afterall, mulberri's car is silver... so she won't really be able to see any appreciable difference in shine.

for me, i use a wash-n-wax once a week and in between, i clean with plain water whenever neccessary. once a month or so, i send my car to get groomed by professionals. seems to work fine so far.

Re: All about the new 3 series

Hi everyone,

At long last my car has arrived! Feels so big and scary! But it's oh so pretty! I drove it (literally) around the block ONCE and then i got a case of the nerves and went back home where i made the security guard monitor my parking, hehehe. He has also volunteered to check the oil and brakes every week. :D I really feel like driving on the expressway but no one is home to come with me and i'm not too comfortable with the signals. I just can't seem to turn it off, i know you have to tap it the same direction but i keep getting confused and pissing off cars behind me! Oh well i hope drivers are forgiving on p-plates

Re: All about the new 3 series

Hi,

I find that local drivers are more forgiving when you have a p-plate one. But beware, my car was vandalized twice in 2 days when I had my p-plate on after my license conversion.
You're security guard is cool man. As you drive the car more often you'll feel more at home with the car. Don't worry you have enough power to overtake most cars or merge with highway traffic comfortably.

Cheers
Jason

Vandalized?! that's terrible, i don't inderstand why some people can be like that. That is really really mean  was it scratched? I once saw a girl calmly and purposely stub her cigarette on another girl's hermes bag in a club, i was so shocked

congrats! i was really excited when i took delivery of my car too. i took so many pictures, my salesgal probably thought i was nuts. better practice more though... meet up is only a few days away. no one home? then ask the security guard along lah... he sounds like a cool dude... haha

Re: All about the new 3 series

haha no that's just a little too close for comfort.. my mom came home though and we went to novena square so i practised a little on the round thing in the carpark, WHAT is it called anyway? the circular ramp? no one was behind me when i went up but there was a car when i was going down, more like CRAAAAAWLING at snail's pace actually  i kept asking her to check if the drivers looks angry, get so panicky, i think it's really bad, need to get over it quick..

Congrats with your new car, gal!
I'm sure you will enjoy this car a lot!

yah, i think you can be friendly with security guards, but do keep a distance though.
nothing against security guards, just that, you never know.

circular ramp (? i oso not sure wat it's called) is not a good place to practise for a start.
i heard 1 of the deadliest ramps is the one at Taka, you'll see others leaving their trails along the walls.
if you have to go slow, just do it.
like it or not, it's just too bad for the other drivers.
after all, who's paying if there's n accident? *choy! choy!* touch wood.
most important of all, if you're not all comfortable handling the wheels yet, concentrate on the road, not how the other driver thinks.
worrying does not necessarily helps you handle the situation any better, so just be cool.
