Am I liable for Malaysian fines incurred by previous owner?

This was not verified but what I heard:
If you are stopped at the checkpoints in JB or 2nd link, you need to provide them with the original owner's address/IC #. And, have a proof of the date when you start owning the car would help I guess.

If you want to pay, you can pay via credit card. I believe you use rilek site to check? That site allows you to pay but you must register first. There is a way around it without having to register first though.
 
Thanks Stranger. From what you said, i think the log card should be sufficient since it will indicate the date of my ownership right?

I am not sure; photocopy or original? But logically you are right.

BTW, just checked the rilek site, the short-cut I mentioned no longer worked.
