TP forum? what do they talk about there? is it something like those road safety reminder kinda thing?

i think we should start a thread "where to find traffic light camera / overhead brigde camera / radar" TP like to hide and ambush, then we must spread their location, save more bimmer, contribute less to govt.

Location for RED LIGHT CAM
1. Holland Rd (Ford Ave junction)....!@#$%^&*

Re: Amber traffic light

1) All Traffic cameras are triggered only upon red light.
2) All designated traffic lights are installed with 2 cameras
- 1st to capture 1st & 2nd lane inner line and 3rd lane outter line footage
- 2nd to capture 2nd & 3rd lane inner line and 1st lane outter line footage
*Based on the usual assumptions that 1st lane cars are travelling faster than the 3rd lane
3) If you happened to beat the red light on a 3rd lane, you can stil salvage the situation by jamming break - wil be safe even if your car stops in the middle of the junction...

Tried and tested - as long as you get the drift how the logic works :)

Has anyone notice that the 'amber' time at most traffic junctions ( regardless of the junction's width ) here is very short?

in my experience, the wider (major) junctions tend to have a longer Amber period. I always assumed it's to cater to the distance you gotta travel to get across.

Re: Amber traffic light

Am sure most of us encountered 3 types of junction amber:

1) Green turn amber, 3 sec turn red. So can still see taxis cheong
2) Green turn amber, 1 sec turn red. I cheong and kena 12
3) Green turn amber, 5 sec turn red. everyone cheong.

Other than width of junction and speed limit of the road, also depends on accident record for that strip. E.g. Junction outside SADA Sembawang. Its (2) because very accident prone. So bros hitting that stretch never attempt to cheong amber. Sure kena.

Re: Amber traffic light

Front camera aims at the inner lane (lane 3..) back camera aims at outter lane (lane 1...)
1st shot comes from back camera, then 2nd shot comes from front camera.
The purpose is that it has to make sure they capture your "no. plate". Both camera's shot combined will capture the movement from inner junction (Top of your vehicle) to outter juntion (your rear end - where your no. plate will be exposed).

Just remember... as long as you beat the red light "accidentally" and know that you are in "Shit"... Jam break and make sure your vehicle is as close to the inner junction as possible, so that when the 2nd shot triggers - your no. plate is still "hidden". Then move on (so that you don't block the on-coming traffic from the other side) after the 2nd shot is triggered. - no guarantees though, will depend how far out you the junction you are out at.
