Hi bros, I usually drive my F10 with the engine start-stop manually switched off. So, today, I decided to be green (partly petrol running low), and did not switch it off. Strangely, my start stop didn't work! The engine didn't stop (not that I am complaining, but should I get PML to check)?? The rest of the car still works properly... Any bros have any experience on this?

I've tried the start stop function, and at times, it doesn't automatically cut off either. I suspect it has something to do with the entire engine management system - if it detects that the alternator/battery isn't fully optimized, the engine doesn't cut off (even in Eco Pro mode for my 640i). Also, engine cut off doesn't occur when the steering wheel is turned, eg. at a junction - I think this may be for safety reasons?
Either that, or there's something seriously wrong with my start/stop function as well, KNN!

hi bro wobbles - further to my post earlier, my engine start-stop miraculously worked again !!
I know about the start-stop not coming on if engine is not hot enough, or the day is too hot so the air-con needs some power etc., but in my case this morning - the engine just refuses to stop. But on my way home earlier, it worked again.... I guess this is BMW's reliability issue .... its so unpredictable.

Phew.... drive so long only until 126km still long way to 1000..
Yup. i reach like 120/130 3000rpm le very tempeted to step harder. :woottt::woottt::woottt:
Is that the Daytime running light.. i switch to auto so it should be on...:woottt::woottt::woottt:
Oh, i just realise the top can go up/down within the speed limit of 50-60 or maybe was 40 & very fast also but what troublesome is you need to keep holding on to it till it closed/open completely. (is there mob to press once only)
Hmmm.. engine sound still cannot comment yet cause just now all i heard is wind wind wind but the ride is very responsive dun feel like driving such a huge car.
that all for now.. try taking it with my lousy iphone camera all blurry. will post the picture when i come back from my trip & after i go to sherman & gavin to tint my ride dark dark & Kim Kim. whahahaha....:woottt::woottt::woottt:

wobble this morning when my dad send me to work. i just realise my whole ride without the M bodykit dun look so nice.. Arggg.. Yours look nicer.... Really can tell the difference..

I took the 640i out on a long drive tonight - a bit of a run in drive, a bit of a shakedown drive and a bit of a just for the sheer fun of it drive.
And, oh what fun indeed. I took off towards Tuas, got to the final turn back roundabout before the customs checkpoint and pointed the car towards the airport. The first leg of the drive was done on Eco Pro, and the car barely nudged 1500-1800rpm, with the speedometer steady at 90km/h. I could literally see the fuel consumption improve - from 5.4km/L all the way to 6.2km/L - in just one long, smooth cruise.
Got to Changi Airport and looped around Terminal 3, then flicked the car into Sports Mode and shifted the gear knob over to DS. Felt like I was piloting a totally different beast altogether! All I had to do was to flex the right ankle, and I would feel my butt and back grinding into the Comfort Seat, as the violent explosion of acceleration propelled the car forward. The rev counter would hold at 3000-4000rpm for what seem to be an eternity, and if I ever needed more convincing that there were 320 impatient stallions waiting to burst out of the stable, all I had to do was just to flick the left paddle on the steering wheel, and boy, can that car go!
So that's what 320 angry, stamping ponies and 450Nm of gut-wringing, glee-inducing torque feels like.
You know, BMW's present tagline is JOY. Well, to me, Joy is to be found in a twin-blown in-line six 3 liter masterpiece of automotive engineering coupled with an open road and a tankful of fuel.
