Yes, varta builds batts for BMW. Exide too.
A deep cycle battery is constructed differently from a standard battery. They use thicker plates of lead and also slightly different composition to allow a continuous process of lead oxide conversion. A deep cycle battery usually has less cranking current and also slightly less capacity than an equivalent sized normal battery. This balance of surface area of lead and the thickness of the lead is what batt manufacturers get.
normally we do not recommend the use of deep cycle and AGM batts unless specified by the owner cos most of the older BMWs do not require such operating conditions.
