I use carScanner for mobile-phone diagnostics and bimmercode for simple mobile-phone coding, also have various windows diagnostics and coding tools.

Did that carly , before boy was that a ripoff
1. Pay for unique dongle 89.80 USD = 123.31 SGD
2. Pay for full version of app 49.99 EUR = 80.07 SGD PER YEAR !! Subscription based so PAY again next year !
3. Want advanced 1 click features that comes FREE with most other apps ? YES you guessed it right PAY AGAIN ! e.g battery registration 10 USD and so on.

Nope I do programing with the bimmercode app. Some places will ask up to $20+ PER code. I like to DIY and everything is 1 click and set. Works perfectly.

The ODB2 Plugin Adapters be used for both, in terms of wireless OBD Connections, BLE (low energy) bluetooth is better as it short range and is less susceptible to outside interference.
When reading it's no problem, but when writing you should put your phone on flight mode, as if you receive a message or phone call when mid way through writing code, the results could be catastrophic !
Also, in my experience bimmercode refuses to read some ECUs, but if you use a USB > DCAN Cable or ICOM module can read / write pretty much everything
