I checked Arqray site and they quoted 2 manifolds for a e46 4 and 6 pots (from my memory). Safest for you to check if your muffler p/n (if possible) against that website.

I find the statement above that's highlighted in bold very very amusing.
Dude, I know the difference between a 6 cyl and a 4 cyl.
I used to own E46 318i 1.9 litre before this and I own an E46 M3 now.
So, YES I would know how a 6 cylinder looks like. :whattheh:

Dude,

You are not wrong to say that the Exhaust from a E46 323 6cycl can fit onto your E46 318.

But you have to be specific in part numbers, which year is the E46 323 so that the rest of the newbies here gets a clearer pic.

Here are the specs for all the see.

Stock 1999 E46 323i 6cycl M52 block rear exhaust have Single in, Dual out. Part number 18101733903

Then it's different for a 2002 E46 320i/325i/330i 6cycl M54 block. It's Dual in, Dual out. Part number 18107504171

Then finally we have 2002 E46 318i 4cycl N42/N46 block. It's Single in, Single out. Part number is 18107509319

Lane is also not wrong cos he did some homework stating that later model E46 320/325/330 have dual in, dual outlets.

Everybody just wanna make sure when buying something that fits perfect....

Ofcourse diehard fans & with alittle mods at the exhaust shop can mod the dual inlets with a Y pipe to make the Arqray Ti rear muffler to fit.

Wilson, so are there any 6 potters e46 that has only 1 pipe to muffler? that was the point I was trying to talk as it seems some forumers think 320 has 1 pipe and only 330 has 2. I don't think so as mine is 320 and has 2 pipes...I cannot figure out if there are special 320s with only 1 pipe. This will help clarify this situation. 325 and 328(?) is a bit less common here. Thanks.

Wah lao eh.....even with pictures posted you still can't read ah?

I oready say a 1999 E46 323 6 potter is single in, dual out mah.

Look at the 3 pictures again!

In M'sia, there are still alot of old E46 (pre-facelift) running around.

I don't think we have much here liao.

Like I say again.

Be specific......don't keep saying 320, 325, 328, 330.....must say model as well.....

E90 have 318/320/323/325/330/335 also.....readers here will be confused if you don't state the model.

E46 have Pre-facelift & facelift model, E46 6 potter have M52~M54 block too!

Finally, YES, E46 320 6 potter have Single in, Dual out rear exhaust! Pre-Facelift M52 block.

Thanks for clearing that up Wilman with the pics and all.
I actually told him that it won't fit his car already (2 weeks ago).
Don't know why he still want to post here.

Conclusion : E46 323i only 1 pipe leading to the exhaust. After they discontinued the 323i,
BMW came out with 325i to replace it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes!

You are right!

Earliest E46 325 with M54 block is 01/2000 pre-facelift.

Rear exhaust is Dual in, Dual out.

So the conclusion is that some E46 BMW 6 potter do have Single in, Dual out rear muffler.

M52 vs M54 block.

mah lu...ha ha. I only thought of the bigger masses of fl 320s I have seen. thanks for the lessons. wasn't able to read the pics from wil as I was reading from my mobile.....looked really silly now. never realised a pre-fl 320 can have a diff engine block or exhaust, guess I was very locked into the typical scenarios.

I was really trying to help clarify as 888 seems to be looking for buyer so long. I thot it was due to this reason that no 6 potters can use it.

sorry for the previous OTs. maybe a suggestion can be to state which e46s models are siutable for thiss exos once n for all if it hasn't been stated yet. some guys like me don't know everything.

*smiles* Shouldn't have doubt me when I said my friend's E46 323i had only 1 piping to the muffler.

Anyways. Bring up my post. Muffler still for sale. It fits E46 323i, 318i (1.9 & 2.0).
