Either other insurance cos will follow them or they are simply killing themselves.

So far Tenet good in F&B coverage.

Re: Aviva cancels insurance policy over mods

Under proposal form, there is 1 question, was ur rided modded?

If yes, straight away reject.

If no & found out later, it is considered non-disclosure in proposal form.

The problem is, I could not find any definition of mod in their proposal form.

For other bigger insurers, i think they will not compensate modded parts.

Be careful folks, if you mod your car, your insurer can void your insurance. :errrrrrr:

Aviva voids insurance based on car mod

I heard that Aviva can terminate/exclusion your in-force motor insurance if they found out any undeclared mod... One of my friends kana... One day he just received a mail from Aviva... went to the office and Curse and swear :naughty:

Maybe can be an add-on to existing policy with additional premium. Those would involve specialised underwriting which i am not sure whether any insurance co willing to do it or not.

Re: Aviva cancels insurance policy over mods

Online quote alot fine prints & strict. subject to your disclosure. Only one online quote company, guess who?

That why alot drivers still prefer fill up application form & sign becos application does not mention about modication.

The only thing not insured usually when surveyor found driver lup engine or involved in racing.

Re: Aviva cancels insurance policy over mods

Is there a LTA approved mod for BMW cars? (specifically for 335i?)
I was going to install jb4 on my car.. Checked with my agent and here is his reply:

------------------------
MSIG replies that

1) LTA has to approve this.
2) It doesn't void any existing warranties on this car with BMW.

Once the above 2 conditions are fulfilled, then MSIG will decide on whether they can insure or not.

All insurers have their own guidelines in insuring modifications, but the priority is LTA approval.
Once LTA is approved, it is up to insurers to decide how much to charge.
Hence, it's best to ask LTA if it can be approved first.
Once LTA has given approval, then we can ask MSIG for their view. During this time, I would suggest don't do the modification first.
Thank you and regards.

Re: Aviva cancels insurance policy over mods

Condition 2 is kinda hard since it's PML's call whether to void a warranty or not. The remaining condition is not that hard. Can refer to this:

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publi...tions_and_vehoffences/modification_guide.html

For exos, if LTA friendly you will have an official letter from them stating so after you get the approval done.
