Is that true? I thought they are priced roughly about the same...are you looking for a brand new model or a second hand?

I went test drive for 2 consecutive days this week, the guy told me 116i @ $152K after discount, 3 series (entry level) @ $210K after discount. It's a whopping 58K difference. Why i am not keen on 2nd hand BMW is also MANY people tell me cannot buy any models of BMW after the 3 years warranty. Have to spend lotsa $$ for repairing etc...

Honestly, i never own a BMW before but i doubt such things would happen to a prestigious car brand like this. Also, is the 1 series made in South Africa or Germany? Is the one at the current showroom 2013 model or what? Different people saying different things... Zzz..................And and.... what if i buy from Parallel Importers? Sounds like it will be the beginning of the nightmare w/ PI.. OMG!!!!

Hmmm...58K difference...but spread it out over the years of loan..shouldnt be too big difference?
Anyway as for the 2nd hand bimmers, it applies to all other cars as well. The only thing is if you go back to PML or your agent to repair, sure ex! There are many reputable workshops out there to help maintain our rides. I would reckon you send the shortlisted vehicles to stringent checks first before making the decision. Dont forget, we have the lemon law now to protect us =)

so 2nd hand isnt all that bad as well...of course with the warranty from PML, that gives many people the assurance but not sure if there are extra hidden charges sometimes from simple servicing done at PML. Hopefully some bros or sis here can shed some light on this.

Have faith in BMW Engineering...

If you a Single lady & no need to fetch ppl around, 1 series is good enough.

3 series is too big of a car. It is as big as E39 5 series (or 2 gen ago 5 series). My car usually has only 1 passenger. I might be moving to Mini Cooper S. Previously, i am driving a 5 series.

If you want trouble free motoring, u should seriously consider Lexus CT200h. New BMW may not be 100% trouble free. It depends on your luck.

so the rumor goes for all branded cars... even maserati has transmission nightmare. If there are really so many issues, then you won't see so many bmws on the roads. =P

Haha..to put it in a different way, whichever car you choose, sure have their own problems. Really Heng Suay one...but LEMON LAW is here! Fret not..

choose what you like, go with your heart, drive the car for 3 years or so and enjoy the moment! =)

Even though there is lemon law, u still need a laMWyer to bang table. Otherwise, have to learn buddha palm from wobbles.

I was told by the PML sales guy that 1 series per servicing is merely $300 max, except for major servicing. Im really skeptical.
How can it be so cheap??

It is possible...but you might want to find out more in terms of what their servicing means and includes. It could merely just be changing oil..which could be even much cheaper from other workshops!
I tell you what...scrap the 116 idea..go for a 1M! Buy from MA! They got warranty also plus after that can go for their Triple Service Package... SART SART!!

Yup Single lady only at times have to fetch Mummy but should be less than 10 times a year.. hahaha! *unfillial*
IMHO, Lexus is just another Toyota... no point to spend that kinda $$$. 3 Series is a pretty decent sedan which is not really big.

For a 5 series to Mini is defiintely a big change... Are u serious about that?
I've tried Mini in Germany before... it is really small n low...

But i am seeing more people selling their Bimmers within 1 year of owning.... Isnt that be worrying?
