Back to BMW again after a long long time....will not look back

Re: Back to BMW again after a long long time....will not look back

Guys,

just need some help here...I have been having difficult to lock my door using the "hand on the door handle" method. I managed to succeed 1-2 times, but last few days no matter how I touch the door handle I cannot lock the door. Then I have to use the remote control to lock.

The unlocking by holding the handle works fine. Only the locking part I am having problem.

Any clue what I need to do??? I guess I am missing something.

Same thing happened to my F02 some time back - problem was actually the door locking sensor. PML replaced all 4 sensors, nil problems since then. Good luck!

why you buy highline... nothing to mod :p

I am slowly modding my base 523i to highline...

rims - done
sports steering - done
m-sports suspension - done
bodykit - coming soon
idrive - coming soon
soft close - later

btw I also went for the E90 first, then was looking at F10. at that time people tell me i am too young for F10 say buy F10 look like uncle... i don't think i ever regret my decision. in a few years i'm going to be lao uncle ANYWAY!!!! after one year of cursing at the 320i underpowered and always staring at other people's F10, I finally sold my E90 320i and got a F10. now no regret, it's my best car so far.

Me too with my 2-yr old F10. Works fine after PML replaced sensor but problem returns after. Just use yr thumb or finger on the 'strips' part of the handle, press a bit harder & it'll do the trick. Do not place yr fingers into the recess area of the handle as the sensor does not know if u want to open or lock.

Hv fun ... it's a good car to drive.

Happened to me a couple of times after collection. Realized it tends to me either too much rainwater betw finger and sensor or that my key was not near enough.

Wobbles, they replaced all FOC?

Yes, they did. Truth be told, despite my grumblings about PML's lethargic response to complaints & despite my misgivings about needing a couple of visits (minimum) to the workshop to fix things, PML - to a large degree - has always fixed what I wanted them to. I reckon my excellent Sales Exec. may have a significant part to play in this.

what about for pre-owned unit? how to get SE to help? (even though I have the name card of the SE on the manual when the car was sold to the prevoiusowner).

Talking about this, as a 2 second owner of the car, do I need to call PML workshop to update the record?

Thank you... I just tried and manage to get it works with your recommendation.

Depends on the Sales Exec, I guess. But here's why I've stuck with my Sales Exec for this long:

My classmate bought a pre-owned E60 530i from this lady (the Sales Exec) back in the days I was still driving Mercs. This sales lady was actually helping the ex-owner of the 530i to dispose of the car, and so happened that my classmate was in the market for a 530i.

My classmate was so impressed with her service (mind you, she was getting no commission from this sale of a pre-owned unit - "direct from owner"), that he kept her contact, and she continued to service the car for all the gremlins that cropped up from time to time (even helped him repaint the 530i into his color of choice).

When the time came for him to upgrade (he wanted an M3, and this was back in the days PML still held the franchise), he dragged me along, and I bought my first Bimmer, an E65 that very evening. Never looked back since then. When my wife (i.e. princess) forgot that the gear lever for the E65 was located at the steering column, she called my sales exec, which came over to our house & taught princess how to drive the E65.

So, you'll never know - maybe your sales exec would be willing to help, for goodwill purposes, knowing that you might go back to him/her for your subsequent cars?

Good luck, bro!
