Battery discharge.... issue

Hi everyone,

Im new here. I have own a 520 since 2019. Recently when i was about to get into my car through comfort access somemore it no responsive and i hv to touch a few times before it can finally open. When i start the car somemore the cranking seems weak but it managed to start up the car and the idrive display “Battery Discharge” i was feeling uneasy so i drove to my workshop n get it tested. Change battery n register it. The next day wen i go to my car.... the car is no responsive at all. I have to use manual key to open the door. I cant fire up the car also. In the end i can someone to jumpstart the car and the car is back alive again. Drive to my mechanic and he change another battery for me. And ask me monitor again. This morning wen i go my car, again the same thing happen. No power, i hv to jumpstart myself and the car is back to normal.
can anyone please advice me what should i be looking out for?

I used to have same problem with my E60 years back.
Culprit was my car video cam- Thinkware recording non stop. Of course my battery is old too.

Keep bringing it back to the workshop and let them solve it. Disconnect any incar camera and incar charger.

But i can jumpstart the car and continue to drive for the day.... only wen i park overnite the nxt day i go to car the battery is flag....

Then high chance there is a continuous leak/discharge somewhere....

Hi I’ve gotten this issue too. Most probably is the live camera draining too much battery. Or change your charging cable. Or alternator. Hope it helps.

So what was the issue ? What did they do to rectify ? How much did it cost ?

Hi sorry for the late reply, did a system upgrade as it was sending a false positive signal. Somewhere in the range of $300.

I guess so, but in the course of panic the main idea was to resolve it since my usual non pro BMW workshop couldn't diagnose any issues.
