Im interested to putting some aftermarket brake calipers n rotors on my e46
currently i have a set of subaru sti spec C brembo front n rear brake set.
Can anyone advice me if im able to fit this set up on a e46 with ease.
Im sure modification will be needed.
Can anyone give me some advice regarding fitting this brake set up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Roughly do u knoe how much it will cost to fabricate custom brackets to fit the original brake pads n disc rotors from the sTi.
ANd do u knoe anyone that has done that similar conversion.
What if i get new rotors with the right PCD for the e46.
Would i still be able to use the calipers?
I've heard about generic pricing to fabricate mounts. A T6 or T7 (can't remember) mounting bracket is about $700 per pair.
You'll probably have to find out what the width of the STi rotors are. 28 or 32mm? Look for a generic 2 pc rotor for the E46, with the right PCD. what size are you going for? and what is the max size the STi brakes can hold?
And can your rims clear it?
Then get the shop to do the measurements for you.
Don't know about you, but I would find putting Jap brakes on a Conti car a bit odd. For the same amount of time and effort, there are a few Brembo brake sets that can fit with a lot less hassle. There are a few forumers here that can bring it in/or have 2nd hand sets to let go.
