Blacklist workshops?

Re: Blacklist workshops?

ok ok ...

The workshop is Goodwill.

Yup, customer service first class... they sent my car back to my house after repair. Had wanted to recommend them highly, BUT... this episode of 'summon for speeding while car is supposedly in the workshop' really SUCKS!

Didn't really mean to flame them, but just wanted everyone to beware of such unscrupulous workshop ethics!

The boss said cant find de driver! WTF!

Just my suggestion. The boss of Goodwill should take full responsibility and write to TP that the offence was committed while the car was in his company's possession. That's the minimum he should do if he is a gentleman. If he truly has no idea which staff is the culprit, the boss or worksop should still take full responsibility. In addition, if the workshop wants to gain back credibility, the boss should also give you a written apology for the distress and compensate you. If not, you can go ahead and shame the company publicly and seek redress by other means.

I wonder if the workshops provide an acknowledgement slip when you send in the car. At least ADs do that, hence I have always serviced my car at ADs.

Re: Blacklist workshops?

tell the boss: ok im going to make a police report. time to play hardball.

Re: Blacklist workshops?

Bro, send an appeal letter to TP & attach with the receipt of the workshop as a proof. Then TP Investigator will call you for statement. Tell them everything & let TP investigate.

Re: Blacklist workshops?

outside workshop normally do not issue slip for the servicing.
besides, the slip that pml issued is to protect them with limited liability and what-have-you. once we signed it, we agreed to whatever terms&conditions stipulated by pml. it's definitely not for the owner best interest. i'm not trying to bash pml in any given chance but that's the fact.

I think the acknowlegement slip works both ways. The reputable workshops also keep track of the car keys so they know who took the car for whatever reasons. At least when there are disputes, PML has acted honorably as far as I know. I am completely neutral though as I have also bashed PML in the past, in the interest of seeking improvements but just want to give credit where credit is due.

The other way to look at it is that at the time of the offence - You got alibi that you are not the driver ? Once you are in the clear then go after the workshop.

Re: Blacklist workshops?

If the workshop boss can nonchalantly shift responsibility for the illegal speeding, what happens if they had crashed the car, or worse take off with it and drive it out of Singapore without a trace :O That will be serious shit.

Re: Blacklist workshops?

Anyway, I'm going to the Traffic Police to ask them to investigate. If need to, I'll lodge a police report for driving without my knowledge (tantamount to theft?)

:furious:

Re: Blacklist workshops?

driving without knowledge (tantamount to theft) = hard to prove, no arguments at all.

a car is left at workshop for servicing. the shop can always qualify that after servicing they 'must' drive out to check the car is in good condition which is part of their service process.

speeding offense is another matter. the workshop cannot deny this as the car is in their possession at that time.

Re: Blacklist workshops?

I've checked with the Traffic Police dept:

I've to write in to them to detail my case and they'll write to the workshop concerned. The officer said the owner HAVE TO provide the driver's details. Otherwise, it'll be a legal case.

What have I gotten myself into? ... all I did was to check out another workshop after PML failed to rectify my problems...

I think I better change car...
:huhhuh:

Re: Blacklist workshops?

its not your fault lah bro....damn lack of discipline and internal control on the workshop's part.

as for the legal case, its police case or civil case? ie u sue them, mata bochup? very different one hor

Re: Blacklist workshops?

Thanks for all your well-wishes & "condolences"...

I've written to TP & called to check on my case, they'll summon the shop instead. Out of my hands now.

Just want to 'warn' all, esp newbies like myself, to beware of such unscrupulous shops :wtf:

ps: my car pbm still not resolved... if you see a E60 cranking a few times after refueling at petrol kiosk, that'd b me... if u hear a loud engine "clank" sound when a E60 starting in the morning, that'd b me... :~(

think I'll cross over to Audi soon... so dishearten w my "Ultimate Dream Machine"... :shakehea:

Re: Blacklist workshops?

By any chance, did TP actually advise you how long they'll take for the investigations?

It could take quite some time bro..

Best is to talk to the owner directly and tell him that it'll be bigger problem.

Next, I would recommend to send your ride to another specialise BMW workshop.

I can understand your situation cause I've been there before.. car wasn't fixed for 6 months! :evillook:
