Bluetooth speakerphone

Anyone know where to get this setup?
My e70 x5 2009 model has the phone buttons on the steering wheel but it seems like there is not Bluetooth module on the iDrive.
Where can I get this installed and anyone know how much that would cost?

Does ur car has USB input? If yes then cost abt 100+ to retrofit. If no then will be ex. Site sponsors charge abt 2k. I DIY for abt 200. :)

Re: Bluetooth speakerphone

That's what it cost me to do it for my car. if the car already comes with the hardware module, the additional hardware needed cost another 100+ thereabouts. I spent about $200 cos I had to buy the coding cable which cost me about $60.
Additional OEM BMW hardware are just the Bluetooth Antenna and Microphone which costs about 40 Euros. The wiring and pins required for the retrofit makes up for the rest of the cost.

CK you did this yourself? how do I check if I have the hardware modules? I can only see what's on my steering wheel now.
Also does it integrate well?

Yes, I did the retrofit and coding myself. It's original bmw hardware so I get to use the steering wheel buttons for phone and voice control.
The module should be on the left side behind one of the panel in the boot. But you do not need to check there first. Just see if you have any USB port in armrest/glove box as this is the first clue to whether you have the module.
You can also pm me your car plate so I can check your car's options from factory.

also - where to buy the stuff?
any DIY manual ?

I had to ask a stockist to order in from Germany as they do not stock the parts.
I have the bmw retrofit manual for E90 bt. But more accurate instructions are found on overseas forums.

1. How old is ur car?
2. Do you have the USB/ aux in function?
3. Have you tried deleting away the saved phone from the car and pairing it again?
4. Have you tried using another phone to pair?

Reason for first 2 questions is to find out what type of module is providing the BT function. Overseas, some owners have BT provided by a TCU and this module is known to die after a few years.

You can also try 3 & 4 above.

Another option is to locate the module in the trunk, disconnect it and then connect it back and see if the module works again.

2) i only have a aux in function

4) yes, didnt work

my phone sometime detected my car 1 in maybe 10 times, but when i try to pair it...
it dosent work

Re: Bluetooth speakerphone

Test with other phones before doing anything funky with the car .... found out recently that when my wife is in the car - my phone won't pair because it is connected to my wife's phone already.

tried every way possible, no phone was paired as there wasnt any icon to show that there's a phone being paired

Re: Bluetooth speakerphone

Reboot the car ..... Sometimes it happens. Goto a WS and reset it. Physically if necessary.

if you don't mind, can PM me your license plate number and i try to see what options you have in your car.
since you do not have USB, BT might be provided by the TCU which is going up lorry soon.
