thanks!

got your car's information. it was built for UK/Ireland initally.

anyway, your car has the option S644A which is for bluetooth phone. Since I do not see any options for BMW assist and USB (as confirmed by you that you only have Aux In), you car should be using an older version of the bluetooth module which is the ULF (part number 84109200821).

As mentioned by Red_Bean_Bun, try to get a workshop with the correct diagnostics tools to reset the module and see if it solves your problem. if it doesn't, then most probably the module is on the way to electronics heaven and you'll need to buy a new module to replace it. cost of a new module plus programming the new module to your car should cost around 1K thereabouts.

Try to disconnect the main plug of the ulf in your trunk and see if the module works properly after that.

To properly reset the module, you need a diagnostic cable and software.

yeah. you can get a used one off eBay for about 200 to 300 USD and get the workshop to code it to your car.

Hi

Anyone can recommend a workshop to fix the BMW X5 (08) Bluetooth system?
What are the costs involved?
Thanks.

Re: Bluetooth speakerphone

Hi,

i am driving a 2011-may E90.

It has both Bluetooth button on the left side of the steering wheel
It have the USB and Aux slot in the arm rest
It does not have iDrive

Would you be able to find out whether my car has the build in bluetooth module?
is it possible to install if its not available?

Many thanks!

Re: Bluetooth speakerphone

i would also like to know this, as i do have the button but it does nothing and when i look at my list of options, i am not certain if i have any platform to start putting the BT hardware together to get it install. kam sia

BT is an essential item for me as i do not like to use headsets.

Re: Bluetooth speakerphone

my central arm rest, i found i have an aux in. Anyone use a 3rd party BT and plug that in. Will it cut off the radio.music when the phone comes in?

Don't think so unless you manual switch it to Aux.

Hi all, sorry to revive old thread. My 2011 e70 does not come with bluetooth telephony although there's a phone button on the iDrive and steering wheel. There's already USB port on the arm rest and even the sharkin antenna ready. Can anybody kindly guide on how to retrofit this bluetooth module DIY and what's the damage like? Thanks.
