Bmw 1 series soft top - how to maintain it

Hi ,

Wish to check with anyone on how do you maintain, clean your soft top on your 1 series cabriolet ?

Also if they are dust patches or bird droppings , what's the way to clean or remove it,?

Appreciate your advice through yr experience.

Buy a bottle of BMW impregnating solution and apply it .......

I have not done anything to it since i got the car 3 months ago.... soon I will go and buy the solution mentioned above. =)

Better get it maintain vegadonovan... Else will have lighter color patches after long period of time ....

Or get a car cover and cover it... But this will be very troublesome ya...

Just the cats also like to sleep on soft tops =P

Putting cover in carpark.... people will want to uncover it ? to see what car is inside? saw some nice BMW original covers but 600 plus USD =)

I read abt that. It's maintain only, doesn't cleans it leh.

Was rather referring to used car cabriolet where the soft top is dusty cannot clean it off by hosing it off with water...

Buy a bottle of BMW impregnating solution and apply it .......

The impregnating agent is for waterproofing and should be used only when the canvas is clean, like after a wash. There's another BMW solution (in a spray bottle) for cleaning purposes.

For a quick clean-up, just use water and a baby wipe... not regular tissue cos that'll break apart all over the canvas. Some people keep an old toothbrush to remove stubborn stains.

The soft top is quite tough one la.

send it to the groomers .... and pass them the bottle of impregnating agent.
