If you dont want to hear the Sound even from Out-side then you need to do an Extra Soundproofing...thats what i did and also did Auto Foam...now my 535 no such Loud Sound even while the bonnet is closed.

That's why Golilok said strawberry is THE BEST.

Still can hear lah. The front firewall in BMW is very thin. It is for driver to hear engine VROOM VROOM.

If don't want to listen to tiak tiak, always VROOM VROOM loh.

Mine Cannot hear Those Tiak Tiak Sound obviously....they did like 4 layers of Coating around the Firewall and that Tiak Tiak Sound Dramatically reduced you just hear the Engine sound. I was also Amazed, Desmond from KL Auto is really a Guru if you want to control sound! And I can tell you my Cabin is so quite!

Sound Proof Bonnet wouldn't catch Fire bro.

Was at PPSL today and heard also a clattering sound from the 640i coupe, but it was gone after like 2 min....

my wife compalined that it sounded like taxi with diesel engines. PML confirmed it's normal. I have to say that the 6 cynliner engine sounds much better but you know what, the fuel consumption on the new 4 cylinder engine made it all worth it!

Sigh. Why are we talking abt this for the 50th time again.

All DI engines clatter... like diesels.

I saw this post few mins after it was posted, before anyone replied.
However i dunno how to give a proper reply so as not to cause grievance.
Searched using the Advance Search functions for those post i read about the tiak tiak sound but could not find those relevant post so i just kept quiet till now.

All these sound proofing will take up unnecessary weight. After a few years, it would be back to the same again.

For a quiet (or lifeless cabin, personal opinion), i will buy Lexus.

Tell your wife, it is THE new sound of BMW. For me, nothing less than 6 cylinder for BMW.

it cost a lot higher compare to N20 but also inherent the shame tiak tiak diesel taxi sound
besides N20 x28i performance is already trailing neck-to-neck to N55

kindda hard to find a 6 cylinder BMW these days though...and the N55 sounds nothing like the N54 anyway.

I think still got N53B30. It is a tiak tiak strawberry.

In order to mask tiak tiak in N55, maybe need to install Akra.

Tiak tiak exists in all BMW 4 cylinder. Why is it shameful now?

If i can afford it, i will go for N55. Otherwise, i will just buy Camry.
