Re: BMW Eye Eight or Porker Nine Eleven?
I love these hypothetical, suppositional, theoretical discussions, and I love the fact that there are other people out there (Welch, for example) that are similarly careful to highlight the word IF when that word is placed before certain key phrases like "purchase", "new", "car".
IF I were looking to buy a new car, ostensibly to take advantage of the falling COE at this point in time, I would have to let go of one of my existing rides. At the moment, She Who Must Be Obeyed has clearly said to leave the last of the strawberry creamy, silky-smooth, atmospheric gulping N52 inline six found in her F02 alone. She loves that car, and she's not tech-inclined, so whether or not the new G11 can park itself or read my middle finger doesn't quite appeal to her (although she will read the forums from time to time, dangnabit).
My F15 isn't even a year old yet, and hasn't even really been broken in (it has less than 5000km on the clock), so that's obviously out of the question - and in any case, I need a minibus to haul the free-loading, I mean, well-meaning relatives around, whenever they come a-visiting.
Unfortunately, I got rid of the F30 316i in order for wifey to agree to the F15 above, so that's no longer an option to sell.
Looks like it'll have to be the F13 that will get the swift boot out of the garage if I ever do decide that the couch is as good a place to spend the rest of the year on - because that's where I'll find myself, if I were to buy a new car without wifey's permission
