BMW wrapped up the World Touring Car Championship at Macau this weekend - the winning team was a small team (RBM team) which defeated the factory-backed AC schnitzer team.

I was very happy to see that UK team win instead of AC Sch. But I was sad to see Alfa's bad performance...well at least they came in first in this race, but the BMWs are always better...

Enjoyed watching the salon race and rather unfortunate to see the main title contenders crashing out.

What surprised me most was to see the Chevrolets so competitive.....I hear the commentator say its their 1st year.

The funny thing is that the Chevrolets are actually Daewoos.

They are strong because of GM's money, a great driver and very good design and development companies - Ray Mallock Limited and Swindon Race Engines, both very familiar with this type of racing. CAD to testing in 10 months.. same for GT program Saleen.

Any idea why they're not using the E90?

Re: BMW has won the 2005 WTCC

I think I heard Dr Mario Theissen mentioned that this will the the last touring car race for the E46. Since this was an impt race to secure the championship, they probably stuck to prudence and use a platform and car that worked.

Will have to see how the E90 performs when it's time comes.
