Forget about the current model - we tell you why you should wait for next year's most important BMW

Me Too... si peh @#$(^ :argue:

But my only comfort now is the fact that I would have saved about $20K+ from the differences in specs as well as the price.....

Sweet sweet E46......

I just picked up a copy from the kiosk. The whole article is fairly straight forward, informative - less of an actual review (probably since the car is not officially launched). Most of the content revolves around given statistics and direct comparison of features / options. There's no dissing of the E46, just highlighting of newer minor features and perception of the new styling.

I would still think that the E46 would still remain a fairly desirable car after the E90 launches. I feel that some cars age better than others, and the E46 is one of those. If not, there's always the option of getting the E90 when prices are stable and bugs sorted out. In the meantime, just enjoy. ;)

For those who just picked up a copy. Did anyone notice that in the comparison article between the Z4 and the SLK, the conclusion is not complete. That is, the ending conclusion was truncated and it looks like it's due to a printing error..

Cheers.

That is what you get from a local motoring mag. They never take a stand as they are afriad of being "banned" from a particular distributor.
Wants honest and good reviews, go for Top Gear, Cars, What Cars, Evo etc. Local motoring mag good for GT babes pictures though.....................

cheers!

Hi folks,

I have been reading quite a lot of magazine reviews lately... seems like our beloved beemer is taking quite a lot of stick...

In a group test by autocar the rankings were:
1. Merc c-class 230
2. Volvo S40
3. Audi A4
4. BMW 325i
5. Saab 9-3
6. MG rover

The fact that all 6 reviewers felt the merc and volvo were superior is intersting... apparently the 230 C-class is really something. Anyone has tried it out?

The argument is that the E46 is an ageing car... perhaps so..but even then to be pushed to the bottom half of the compact executive segment seems like a cruel blow..Maybe the famed 6-pot, wonderfully balanced chassis and silky smooth auto tranny has finally met its match?

Another review pitched the Z4 2.5 versus the Merc SLK 200. And the SLK won!!!! Maybe its hard top versus soift top.. Interior merc won too. But the crappy engine in the SLK200??? puzzling....

Of course not too long ago in the group test for cabrios the beemer finished behind Audi cabrio...

Now got to wait and see what the head-to-head between the 5-series and the Merc E-class will be...

In the past, the e46 and e39 were supreme - class leaders.. maybe things are about to change....

Hey, just look at the number of E46s versus the rest of the other cars on the road..I think just the E46 alone is enough to match the numbers for all the rest of the cars featured.. So, whats there to argue anymore? if the rest is so good, why so many people got the E46?

Snail_Mobile,

Yeah... I also hope so.. but where to find $$$$?

Just do it lah, Doctor all very rich one right. Do the following immediately;

1) Sell your Cab
2) dump all the cash value left after minus the loan into a used M3. You should have more than enough.....
3) Increase in monthly installment will be countered by eating maggie mee for lunch and go home for dinner. Eat Breadfast at home and ask your maid or mom to prepare sandwiches for lunch if you are sick of Maggie mee.

ONS??????????if you really love someone or something, certain sacrfices is worth it right???

:laughlik:

want to hear something ironic?
I bought the magazine at petrol station as GF C200 broke down there..

I really didnt tihnk much of the review. The only beef they seemed to have about the BM was it was that the steering was slightly dead at the straight ahead and the fact it loses out in the size stakes.

Ive driven the volvo and merc. The merc has come in leaps and bounds, but its interior space is nothing to shout about. I like the weight of the Merc steering, and its very stable round corners, but its not very direct and still understeers. Volvo was nothing to get excited about at all, and although its fast, the engine doesnt thrill or seem to pull as much as the straight six or the mercs.
